Marquez got his ass kicked, but right after the fight when Jim Lampley interviewed Marquez beside the ring, Marquez blamed the loss on Floyd's weight.
Marquez straight up blamed the weight disadvantage and claimed Mayweather was at least 160lbs in the ring. Floyd did not reveal his weight that night.

You do understand that these guys were stepping in the ring as WWs 140-147 , you do understand that the 30 hr weighin fight time difference allows a very distorted official weight to be recorded .

These fighters , Manny , JMM and Floyd just to name a few there are many , have not really grown into WWs , they are just not drying out to make a very light weight 30hrs before , they are now allowing their body to to train and fight at a natural weight .

You guys need to understand boxing and weight , as it is you are all caught up in the weigh-in weight and pay no attention to the fight night weight , look at Figueroa he was 148 on fight night in his last fight , and people are saying how will he go in the higher division , I bet he does real well .

All this Marquez was a FW fighting a WW is total ignorance to what is really going on , I posted the pics of Floyd and Juan , is that 20lbs difference , absolutely not , look at the pics its right before your eyes , but that does not suit a haters agenda , so they ignore the real life images and preach about FWs , Floyd and Marquez are within 3-4 lbs of each other in the real world , Manny is right in the middle , a little bigger than JMM not quite as big as Floyd , but it is only a couple of pounds .

You guys need to learn and understand this sport and what is not so apparent going on within it , the ignorance in this forum is mind boggling .

Are you new to boxing? You need to understand that when you fluctuate between weight divisions like that you need to be prepared and accustomed to fighting at the weight - especially if you're fighting the best fighter in the division, you can't just go from your last fight at 135 up to 147 against the best fighter and expect to be able to perform at 100%.

After that Floyd fight Marquez went back down to 135 and didn't return to 147 for 2 years! lol..Marquez looked puffy and bloated against Floyd when you compare how he looked when he returned to 147 all those years later. He was not the same fighter, and no matter how you try to frame it, the truth is its because he went up 2 weight divisions without proper preparation, adequate adjustment time and healthy conditioning techniques. Hell, at that stage of his career Marquez was drinking his own urine as a training method. He stopped doing that and adopted a conventional scientific approach.

Learn about boxing before you decide to post again. Thank you.

And what did he say much later after he had a chance to reflect, wasn't emotional and had the confidence behind him of K Pac TFO??

Common sense says that JMM has been coming into the ring virtually the same weight as Floyd has for almost 10 years. Why can't you just give credit that the better fighter won.....just like Marquez and Nacho do instead of making excuses for it?
That pretty much sums up your thinking here ..... you just don't get it!

If I wanted to watch a fight with more excitement I'd watch Pac-Marquez 1-4.
marquez requested to come up in wieght smh

I have no idea what he said much later as I lost interest and stopped paying attention. But I do remember Nacho openly saying they were deliberately ducking Amir Khan and that Khan was a dangerous opponent for Marquez especially the "brutal" beating from Floyd.

Also, everyone understood that weight was a concern prior to the fight. I even asked JMM personally about the weight and he told me that weight would not be a problem and that his intelligence would compensate. At the time, he seemed more interested in talking to me about a 3rd rematch with Pacquiao than he was about his upcoming fight with Floyd. Maybe Marquez was too focused on Pacquiao and not on Floyd.

Whatever the case, all I'm saying is that after getting dominated by Floyd, JMM did in fact blame it on the weight. Doesn't matter if you believe him or not. He brought it up.

-Juan was not a ww then but somehow he is now...but after the Floyd fight he went back to 135 and had 1 joke fight at 140..then came back to ww and somehow he is a real ww now although his record there is 2-3(1 win over Alvarado who had 0 ww fights)
Have you seen his body now? Did you see his body then? Dude legit looked flabby vs Floyd. Mosley took off a year and a half between his Marg win and Floyd loss, nobody talked about that layoff. When Floyd had a layoff (wasn't two years btw), people mentioned it way more as being a factor. If Floyd took a two year hiatus, when he was older it would have played a far bigger factor. He stays in shape and was still relatively young. At least not old.

Well you might expect him to make every excuse in the book right after the fight. But later, he and Nacho(Nacho said you need a bring a baseball bat into the ring to beat him) have had lots of great things to say about Floyds skill level. When asked about a rematch with Floyd soon after he KO'd Pac, he said "we've already seen that". That says he believes that it would be the same result in a rematch.

Yet Pac STILL wouldn't fight him then. And people were SCREAMING that Floyd would duck Mosley. EVERYONE wanted that fight to be made at that time.
