I think that you actually want to convince yourself rather than me...
i heard canelo him self said that they changed the date from november to december cuz they wanted to have similar dates as cotto... really why dont they fight each other now or at the beginning of the year instead of tune ups?
i also heard arum said that that fight has to happen on 5 de mayo weekend as well as de la hoya...

I'll tell you a secret: I would also want that Canelo vs Cotto is made on Cinco de Mayo...
I like Oscar and I saw that the likes of Schaefer, Haymon and Floyd nearly ruined him recently...

its all speculation right now, but i still think that canelo-cotto on 5 de mayo is our only hope to get floyd-pac... and i will be happy to watch canelo-cotto on june as log as we get floyd-pac on may...
i also feel that canelo-cotto is the reason floyd-canelo happened on the first place, floyd was forced to fight canelo or give away that september date...

          Just posted on another thread...

Well, Pac is fighting Algieri now... Who is much bigger than Cotto...
Pac would be delighted to fight Cotto for the 160 lineal belt... That would devastate Floyd's ego...

Cotto has lots of cards in his hand...
Mayweather (yesterday, after the fight): "I don't know what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather. All I know is I will fight in May but we haven't got an opponent. If the fight with Manny Pacquiao presents itself, then let’s make it happen."

If you are Miguel Cotto and his people-which fight do you think they prefer? I understand the Mexican v PR rivalry angle and canelo is easier to beat than Floyd. The money is significantly different.

There is no guarantee that cotto/canelo does 500k on ppv.
I agree and from what I remember weren't both fighters guaranteed 10 million plus ppv when they fought Floyd?
Floyd vs Cotto should do 1.5M or better especially with the 154lb and 160lb titles on the line. Then you have Floyd Sr. vs Roach, Roach vs Ariza. The build up for this fight would be amazing.

Let Pacquiao fight Garcia @ 140lbs for both the 140lb and 147lb titles, and the winner could get Floyd in September if he gets past Cotto again.

Cotto vs Floyd or Cotto vs Canelo.

Those are the fights I would buy for 5 de Mayo 2015.

FMJr. is not going to fight Pac...specially if he beats the *** out of Algeri.

ive seen this scenario mentioned a lot in the last 24 hours. It makes the most sense financially for all involved.

it would certainly make for an extremely compelling 2015 to say the least. And if Cotto were to get past may in may then him and canelo can fight thereafter. I cant remember a year of boing being so huge. 2007 was last I can seem to remember...
