weight of the gloves and type of gloves are 2 different things dude. I know you aren't that knowledgeable so let the other guys handle this.

The gloves were changed after they were examined, which was the night of the fight. there was no way it could've happened before then.

for this fight, which the video is about, the glove issue has been decided well in advance. As such, it isn't an issue.

It was in the contract of floyd-dlh about the glove situation. Any fight above 147 lbs, are REQUIRED to have 10 oz gloves, unless it is decided by both fighters to wear gloves less than 10 oz. The gloves where changed after they were examined (the blue custom argentinian flag ones) but he completely denied the NSAC APPROVED RED GLOVES.

Pretty much. I don't care what any other poster thinks about the move Batt. I've never thought glove choice was a ***** move in any fight.

So if a fighter punches hard and his hands are not brittle, like floyds, he has to wear pillows? Even floyd complained about the "pillows" and that it DID affect his performance in the DLH fight.
And that is why you should just stop watching boxing and go watch some tennis or something.

I believe Maidana told Floyd in the post fight press conference, to let him use his gloves.

ok. obviously he didn't mean it because he signed for the rematch and can't wear what he wants.

that's the thing-you guys act like what happens is 2 teams play a scheduled game like its an NBA/NFL season.

The team of the top draw draws up a contract. That contract is going to be heavily weighted to the side of the top draw. If the top draw is a big puncher-usually means smaller ring and punchers gloves. top draw is a mover like Floyd-wider ring, non punchers gloves.

I may think dirk is a complete fa&&ot but his thread the other day showed all of Floyd's opponents wearing the gloves. NONE OF YOU, said one word about it then (obviously it didn't go down like it did here).

I have never cared about these things. I accept it comes with the territory. Frankly, I always have more respect for the fighters that win under these conditions.

I said that 10 posts ago-the playing field is almost never "level" when the fight involves the top draw in the sport. the difference is we are in the social media age and Floyd is a social media whore.

So according to you, mayweather gets to make his opponents wear pillows if they punch too hard, just cuz hes "top draw"???? The playing field is almost never "level". But mayweather wants to even the playing field doe. Stop contradicting yourself, you are starting to sound worse than floyd.

I wish it were as simple as that, but it won't be. Some people are going to still think that Floyd only won because Maidana had to wear different gloves than the ones he trained in. They'll never talk about the pair of gloves the commission didn't approve of. Anyway to put on a blemish on his record is what they're looking for, and they won't stop EVER.

What are you talking about? Everybody's post in here is talking about THE RED NSAC APPROVED PUNCHERS GLOVE. We already know that the blue custom gloves were not approved, hence why we havent said anything about them idiot.

People should not stop talking about such stuff as long shyt like this is allowed to fly. The media seems to be doing the job of asking Mayweather about why does he have to pull stunts like these...too bad there's no spotlight on the commissioning bodies.

Games like Floyd is playing with Maidana have been going on for years. Don't forget Maidana did try to get some different gloves before Floyd went all diva on him. Anyway, I think you might be interested in a good history lesson regarding gloves. Check this out:
