Comments Thread For: Alex Leapai-Malik Scott Crossroads Showdown is Set

Alex Leapai's life story has been all about second chances, now the Australian boxer is plotting his route to a second shot at the heavyweight world title.

The 34-year-old father of six from Logan near Brisbane captured the attention of the nation earlier this year when he took on Ukraine's world champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany.

Despite being stopped in five rounds by the dominant Klitschko, Leapai will return to the ring in October against American Malik Scott in Brisbane.

If Malik Scott wins this in an easy fashion, you have to really start questioning that fight with Deontay Wilder a lot more.

Why is that? Leapai is ****, I'd be worried if Scott didn't win this easily.

Leapai should be challenging Commonwealth champ Lucas Browne if he's serious!

This is a bad style match-up for Leapai.

He'd have had a better chance against a slugger like Sam Peter. Scott will easily outbox him and win a decision - it will be a lot like the Kevin Johnson fight, except Leapai likely won't get stopped when he tires from chasing Malik.

If Scott turns up in shape he will win this easily. But if he shows up overweight, and with a bag over head because he's too ashamed to show his face, then expect a quick ko victory for Leapai.

If Malik Scott takes Leapais best shot without shaking once It puts even more doubt on that Deontay fight.

You won't see this on Showtime. Too much doubt about who would win.
