Doubt it's happening any time soon. Frampton beats Kiko and the demand for the Quigg fight will be massive. I don't know what Santa Cruz is gonna do but I doubt he's gonna fight Rigo.

I agree. But, man, it's so frustrating when you can't look forward to a single decent fighter challenging "El Chacal." Usually, it's one match-up people want to see that proves elusive. Where Rigo's concerned, it's crickets all around. Jeeesus....

It seems like the entire 122 pound division is trying to act like he doesn't exist to force him to move up.

I think Rigo does more for his legacy by beating the guys at 126 and would like to see that. But he has no obligation to do it. It's 2 divisions above his natural weight class at 118.

Rigo and quigg need to take care of that interim situation.

Hearn flat out said something along the lines like "Why would I make that fight when I know my guy can't win". I can't find the interview though.

Won't happen. People think Quigg is actually a real world champion. That's how he's been marketed and the Frampton fight will be sold as a unification. Sad but that's the way it is now.

It would be awesome if Rigo moved up and kicked ass at 126, but that idea concerns me. Guille is a tiny guy. As you said, his natural weight-class is 118. The guy is nothing but fast-twitch muscle fibre, head-to-toe. I don't think he can put on weight, even if he tried. Rigo's already giving up size at 122. He'd be giving up even more at 126. At featherweight, you've already got guys that can fight at 130, or even higher. I don't like it. But "El Chacal" would probably find more fights, so there's that.

I wouldn't call it sad. It's always been like that. If you had Mares and Santa Cruz in the same division and they both had titles they would take that fight easily over Rigo. Any other fighter in that position would do the same thing because that's where the money is.
