Thats how he tends to operate since he got in the captains chair. Of course it would be refreshing and better for the sport if he used this position to elevate the sport instead of just himself.
thats funny because in the rematch and in the 3rd fight manny got to wear the gloves he wanted too LOL. so u better pray for floyd to let maidana use his gloves in the rematch or else its not a good look on floyd's part LOL. and i could of swore when floyd came back out of retirement pac was the a-side at the time?

Well out this whole thing what's surprising to me is how floyd himself made such a public tirade out of the whole thing on camera, and how his fans try to play it down when called on it. Surely if you are the head honcho you can cooly get your way without the circus act stuff. You don't find this kinda con artist bush league, or it is what it is...

Gloves? De La Hoya wanted Reyes brand, the "puncher's glove." Even though Mayweather always wears Winning brand, which better protects his brittle hands, he agreed.

"I can't wear the gloves I want to wear, but he can wear the gloves he wants to wear, so he said, 'Let's put that in the contract.' So I said, 'OK, no problem.'"

Then there was the weight. Mayweather preferred to fight at welterweight (147 pounds), where he is champion. De La Hoya, who holds a title at junior middleweight (154) insisted that Mayweather come up to his weight. Again, Mayweather agreed.

Dude just agreed and went out an won...Maidana quit crying and go out and win.

when floyd came out of retirement, he agreed to Manny's glove choice before manny didn't agree to take a drug test.

I hope floyd doesn't let him wear the gloves. It will piss posters off. You guys are gonna find something to complain about anyway.

Again, were talking floyd here. he doesn't flex his power behind the scenes like Al Haymon. He needs to do it in front of the camera so everyone can see. Its like he gets off on it. Its completely irrational.

I agree He should have just addressed it in a more professional matter, behind the scenes, like others have. calling him on that is reasonable.

Calling him out for choosing the opponents gloves like he invented the practice is a little much.

In that fight Floyd looked like shit against an old fat Oscar. Remember there was gonna be a rematch in 2008? Lol, Floyd sucks. He's just a roided up technician who cherry picks easy fights. Overrated. Ain't knocking shit out, and pressure puts him on the brink. All that muscle and he can't even hurt his opponents YOU are sad. A grown man worshiping this midget and defending him like a your his bitch.
How can anybody take your dumb posts seriously? You clearly on Floyds dlck as you keep his name in your mouth.

So by your logic Manny is also a crook because he has forced fighters to fight at a catchweight against their will. This is the B-side's era. Manny and Floyd are crooks!

Smh, consistency is key to logic my friend.

I wholeheartedly disagree with Mayweather's actions to bar Maidana from wearing his glove of choice, but if it was such a big deal like you claim it is Maidana should have walked away from the fight.

You can disagree with that as much as you want to but at the end of the day (paid or not) Maidana agreed to Floyd's demands.

Realize that whether or not you agree with the actions, Maidana agreed to the demands. He fought the fight and lost. He agreed once again for the rematch not to wear these types of gloves.

The real question is: if the gloves are the sole reason that Maidana lost, why are you defending Maidana's lack of back bone when it comes to negotiations?

If Maidana took a loss solely because of the gloves, why would he agree to rematch under the same circumstances?
