Forget about Mayweather-Maidana, THIS needs an immediate rematch. Even if some people don't think Lara won, I know Canelo sure didn't. I don't see how a boxer can chase and get hit and chase and get hit and still get credit for it. This is why it should have been a draw.

Also, it seems like Canelo can't make up his mind what kind of fighter he wants to be. Suddenly, he wants to be all macho with his "I want to fight" attitude and wants to be more aggressive, yet back in September, he was trying to be all slick and outbox the boxer? Really? The stuff he was doing in this fight are what he should have been doing against Mayweather and he didn't. This is why you can't compare this to the Floyd fight; Canelo fought different in both fights. The Canelo that fought Lara was more dangerous than the one that fought Mayweather.

I mean let's be real here, Lara clearly could've stayed in the pocket and won that fight. What he did in the first three rounds was nice but you've got guys like Floyd Sr calling him a flat out runner. There were some serious points in that fight where Lara wasn't throwing a single punch and circling the entire ring. He gifted away a TON OF ROUNDS he could've won with more activity. I've stated over and over again this is the big leagues, judges handling big events take into account the crowds perception of the fight as well. You can't paw at your opponent an entire round and think you'll win that round. Effective aggression will always win on the cards.
Bro, I was agreeing with your original post. lol

I scored it 7-5 for Lara and I was purposely being biased for Nelo because I was afraid of another Paul Williams situation.

When it all settles, both sides will agree to disagree. But we all need to understand that this kind of talk needs to happen. I felt Herrera (Danny Garcia fight) speaking up was justified as well as other fighters who felt like they received the short end. If Lara or any fighter believed they won but kept quiet, the opponent would say they shut em up.

I personally don't believe Nelo "beat" Lara. Hence the agreeing to disagree with the other posters. All in all, it was one hell of a fun week.
The point is this is a few places we can express our opinion and we should say in any opportunity they stole the fight. There is no reason why Canelo should have any advantages on the judges just because he is a protected fighter. There is no reason why some judges decide not to score points for a defensive fighter. Those mexicans have no right to change the rules of boxing just because they need to change the rules. I approve 100% that Lara is keeping saying they stole the fight. Is true he could win in a better fashion but Canelo neither had success conecting. Why Lara has to double Canelo in order to get the fight?

Great question. I don't mind paying for PPV events and I'm a Canelo fan...but I'm honestly not sure I'd like to see this fight again. It was incredibly frustrating watching Lara move around the ring without any offense; and it was equally frustrating watching Canelo following Lara around without cutting off the ring.

There's a difference between boxing and running, just like there's a difference between chasing someone and cutting off the ring.

Funny how BS makes a couple of articles off one interview.

I don't get it either. Its a fight that he could have easily run away with, and that is part of what is so frustrating about this fight. I felt Lara did win, I get why people want to be ****s and give canelo rounds that Lara was moving in, even though Lara would tag Canelo was a really really hard shot and then move the rest of the round and Canelo wouldn't do anything meaningful.

I get that, Lara still won those rounds, but it was really dumb on Lara's part because he should have known the judges wouldn't be giving him those rounds, and he had it in him to put a beating on Canelo.

Lara dropped the ball on this one. He was supposed to go for the KO or at least put a good hurting on Canelo. All that talking and bragging. Why don't these fighter learn that against the star, it is most likely you will not get the decision. Didn't Lara see how they tried to get Floyd in the Canelo fight and that's Mayweather. Lara dumb for this one.

Agree with everything u said... What is in his head ? All he went through to get the fight ,the waiting , being passed and ignored . The stars had to aline for him to get the fight and he lets the opportunity slip through his fingers . WTF ... I was yelling at the tv after about rd 5 or so cause he coulda showed more and he blew it .

I'd pay to see it. Maybe this loss will unleash the fire within Lara and then he'll do what people expected him to do this fight. Plus, it was an even fight.

I think it was bad enough we never saw a De La Hoya-Trinidad II. Don't want the same thing to happen here. I want an immediate rematch...and this time, with better judging.

Castillo-Mayweather 1: Total punches 203-157 Power Punches 172-66 all in favor of Castillo and Floyd won 116-111, 115-111, 115-111. A side prevails and no one didn't run like Lara did.

Estrada-Viloria: Total punches 418-186 Power punches 361-148 more than double in favor of Estrada and he barely got a split decision in Macao. A side loses and no one didn't run like Lara did.

Two different scenarios. 1) A side favored even when was outlanded in the total and number of power punches (and not only 9 or 10 like Lara did).
                      2) A side lost and couldn't revert favoritism. In order to defeat the A side Estrada has to land 232 more total punches and 213 more power punches and even with that he barely got a split decision in Macao. Estrada played like a real man and rather than just aiming to outland 9 or 10 more punches he went for the whole enchilada and more importantly he engaged all the time without running (like Lara did) beating Viloria at his game. That way Estrada didn't have to be complaining of the judges after the fight and also fans in the arena were very happy and that is what professional boxers should aim for which means being so dominant that even poor judging can't override the right result.
