Lara won the fight. And everybody knows why he officially lost it.

Is clear Lara won and neither both fighters did a lot for the victory but the one who conected more and won more rounds was Lara. What a Cuban need to do to win in Las Vegas against GB and a Mexican?. Buy the judges as they did?

With a 9-3 scorecard? He's got to knock him out bud.

I scored it 7-5 for Lara and I was purposely being biased for Nelo because I was afraid of another Paul Williams situation.

When it all settles, both sides will agree to disagree. But we all need to understand that this kind of talk needs to happen. I felt Herrera (Danny Garcia fight) speaking up was justified as well as other fighters who felt like they received the short end. If Lara or any fighter believed they won but kept quiet, the opponent would say they shut em up.

I personally don't believe Nelo "beat" Lara. Hence the agreeing to disagree with the other posters. All in all, it was one hell of a fun week.

In the olympics every punch is +1 regardless of the punch itself, in boxing it's a big difference. A hook, an overhand, etc count the same as several jabs. If not Floyd and other amazing jabbers would fight on the backfoot jabbing all night long exclusively. 55 jabs out of 107 total landed punches when the other guy hits you with 88 power shots out 97 punches is a loss my friend. Sorry to break it to you.
Excellent summary. You hit the nail on the head.

              Canelo won - 39%
              Lara won - 30%
              Draw - 31%

Vast majority is the wrong wording but the majority of people thought Canelo won could very well be true. I have no idea, I don't care just putting that out there as well as my % not being accurate. However, there is no way Lara deserved to have his hand raised.
No, it is not true. Majority means more than half.

The right word for this scenario is plurality, or relative majority.
In other words, the largest percentage out of a list of options.

But it is not about semantics.

If you read my previous posts, I clearly stated that Lara was too negative, was fighting like an amateur, didn't throw or commit enough. I am not arguing with any of that.

On the other hand , Canelo didn't do any better.
He was following Lara around the ring as if he was out for a stroll , he didn't throw much more than Lara, connected less and many of his body shots where smothered or not clean (hitting Lara's back , for instance).

At the end of the day, I think Lara deserved the nod, but I'm not saying I'm utterly impressed with him.

What I find insulting is the series of BS decisions Canelo is involved with , it seems to me that at least one judge in every Canelo fight is either on GBP's payroll or has a crush on Saul.

He boxed good enough and in my eyes he won but knowing what he was up against, he should have done more..
Lol. I don't understand if this is simply sloppy logic or if people truly don't see the inconsistency in saying "it was a close fight ... but Canelo got a gift" or "it was a close fight but Lara got robbed."

If it was a close fight, no one got a gift...because, uh, well, duh, it was a close fight.

Same logic applies to whether Lara got robbed. You cannot say it was a close fight and then say Lara got robbed. No one got robbed. If the decision would have gone to Lara, I would have been upset because I do not believe he won; however, it would be illogical for me to scream robbery, setup, scandal, or gift because it was a close fight. That, by it's nature, means anyone could have justifiably won.
