Comments Thread For: Top Rank Has Big Plans For Vasyl Lomachenko

This past Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko (2-1, 1KOs) officially became a major player in the featherweight division, and certainly a name on the rise, with a statement making twelve round majority decision over previously undefeated Gary Russell Jr. (24-1, 14KOs) to capture the vacant WBO featherweight title.

Top Rank's VP of Boxing Operations, Carl Moretti, and one of Top Rank's head matchmakers, Brad Goodman, expect Lomachenko to be dominant force in the featherweight division.

Suddenly after Rigo success and master demonstration Arum is admiring the Olympics Amateur champions but not everybody is like Rigo. Is a shame he is bias with Rigo and helping the others because Lomachenko won't repeat the Rigo success.

He stuck with Rigo after his awful showing vs Cordoba, gave him lots of chances but the fans voted with their feet

Arum is moving the pieces to make Rigo looks bad because he is choosing his opponents in a way he can't shine. The worst example was Agbeko, who didn't fought against a defensive fighter like Rigo. Rigo's manager called Arum attention but he insisted in this fight to make him looks bad. But again, I like Lomachenko but he and Zimming are not Rigo

I bet they do. They have a real gem with Lomachenko. TR rank can put him in with the Mexican Russian or Donaire and they would be really good fights.

Rigondeaux fights at 122 and Loma at 126 . Why not a middle ground at 124 ? Even if it's not for a title. ? Rigo would teach Loma what boxing is all about . I must admit bob arum wanted this fight but lomas team said no . They know rigo will beat him . Rigo wants this fight , let's do it .

Your right . After rigondeaux , arum is trying to make Loma looks better , wants to make him look like the real deal cause for him , Loma is more marketable . But rigo is the best when it comes to boxing skills and Loma knows It .
His team said already no to a fight with rigo , I must admit bob arum wanted it .
We all know rigo is the real deal even though top rank wants to put him down .... Hope Loma takes this fight , rigo wants to take it . I know cause I see him and talk to him every week . On Wednesday I will go to his sparring session .
Saludos paisano . Hit and not get hit , can't hit what you don't see .

I expect Arum to keep Loma away from Rigo for as long as possible
