martinez actually wasn't injured. he suffered a broken nose and a bad concussion..........(which explains why he said he felt dizzy after the first round)

I was rooting for Martinez all the way, especially in that horrible 1st round. But if he took the fight knowing that his knee wasn't ready for a fight of that magnitude, shame on him. I still think the 2010 Maravilla that won Ring ****zine fighter of the year would annihilate Saturday's Cotto. But no excuses, Cotto fought the fight of his career and he came with poise to make history.
