Its not all of NSB. The far right birther fringe of Manny's fanbase and the gong/thuggery/garcias dad/maniac sect can't bring themselves to hold fighters they like accountable. They just blame floyd regardless.

i think your problem is you see things in a very negative light. i don't believe for a second that oscar is doing this only for personal gain.

i believe he woke up one day, looked into the mirror and didn't like what he saw because what he saw was a willing participant in a cold war that continues to prevent the best fights from getting made. he probably looked himself right in the eyes and quietly whispered, "enough is enough, i must end this cold war and give the fans the fights they want to see.".

again, we should all give oscar his well deserved thank you.

Why didn't he do this when he wasn't in danger of losing his company?

ODH wants to make sure he can continue to make money.ODH wants to remain a relevant force in boxing. His best chance is to align with Arum again.

He isn't trying to give fans the best fights-I mean do you think Canelo v Manny at 150 is a fight we all want to see?

He is reacting to finding out SChaeffer and Haymon could be positioning for a hostile takeover.

GBP was built on Oscar's name and cache with the networks. Oscar was still an active fighter at the time and the biggest cash cow ever seen. HBO wanted to keep him happy.

Does anyone with an ounce of sense believe a fledgling promotion headed by Schaefer would have been handed dozens of dates on HBO if Oscar wasn't involved? Does anyone believe that AEG would have become an equity investor if not for Oscar?

Schaefer is an employee. He was hired to be the chief day-to-day manager. When Oscar hired Richard, he had to agree to match the large salary Schaefer was getting paid from UBS. Yes, Oscar went off the rails with his personal problems and was not around much for a couple of years. We all know this. However Schaefer has been given too much credit for keeping the company moving. That was his job. He was paid very handsomely out of Oscar's pocket even during the money losing early years.

Now we learn that Schaefer has allowed many of Haymon's clients to fight for GBP without exclusive promotional contracts. This greatly reduces the value of the company. Luckily for Oscar, Canelo is by far the biggest draw and is loyal and under contract.

I think a lot of people fail to realize this. Oscar De La Hoya might not be the smartest person. He might be a cross dressing drug addict...but he has charisma. People are drawn to him. He has connections in boxing that not many others have.

My opinion (which doesn't mean ish)...

We all believed Oscar starting his own promotion company was good for the sport of boxing, but like all other promoters he has decided to also rip-off boxers by taking a large share of the profits. Arum is the scum of the earth, just like most, if not all promoters. GBP is nothing without Schaeffer. But I think Schaeffer is definitely guilty of working against DLH behind his back with Haymon. What - I suspect - he has done is not in the best of DLH and GBP - even though he made/makes them profitable. But I do think it is in the best interest of boxing (fans) and the boxers. There are no innocent players here. None!
That said, I believe Schaefer leaving and working with Haymon and PBF will not only become the premier players in boxing, but will be the best thing to happen to boxing in our lifetime. Fighters will get fights, they will be compensated better, promoters will take less, and fans will most definitely benefit.

I believe a paradigm shift is about to happen in boxing and the evil type of promoter (robbing the boxers) will be going by the wayside. PBF, Haymon and Schaefer will and are a blessing to the sport of boxing. The fighters and fans will win out. Eventually networks will compete for each fight and not each fighter.

Fans need not support DLH, Arum, Don King, Main Events, etc. they are part and parcel of what is wrong with business. Especially the boxing business. They rob the ones who are really doing the work and the fans and boxers lose out. We need a boxing commission with honest judges and I think if PBF, Haymon and Schaefer team up it will lead to the betterment of boxing overall. At least that's what I hope for. I believe that PBF not only wants to change to be a better person, but that he honestly wants to make boxing a better sport. This is why we (I) initially supported GBP's, but they (DLH) went the way of the dark side. I believe Schaeffer is trying to correct that. I think he means well - but like I stated previously - there are no innocent parties here.

He had a great life - money, power, fame, wife - and he turned to drugs and returned to trying to make amends with the biggest liar and snake in boxing. Birds of a feather flock together. DLH is stuck on ******. Arum and Don Kin are the biggest crooks in the history of boxing. Manny resigning with Arum isn't loyalty. Manny is stuck bc Arum knows Manny used PED's. Manny did not need to sign with ANY promoter. He could have called his own shots and made more money while still allowing Arum to promote the majority of his fights. Arum's biggest cash cows left him only to make more money and become greater. Where there is smoke there is fire. Manny is stuck with Arum and his self-serving manager Koncz. If you don't realize that Manny took PED's - like all boxers in the sport believe - then I got some property in ***ashima to sell to you.

I hope Schaefer and GBP promotions split; and that he teams up with Haymon and TMT to create a force within boxing for the greater good of boxing.

If Schaefer is doing so well for GBP then why is DLH getting rid of him?

Because his overpaying the fighters , you have guys making 1 million a fight yet they don't have 1 million views on the ratings

the fighters actually signed to ODH will likely be able to fight on HBO. those signed to GBP through the "AL Haymon Mnagement track" will join whatever company he forms with schaeffer.

So Canelo and Mares (i think) and others will be with the new GBP.
