      BEST SKILLS
      Joe Calzaghe
: He had an answer for everything I did. Calzaghe, as I said, could handle any style and that, I’m telling you, is such a rare gift.

      BEST JAB
      Keith Holmes
: He was as tall as me and he was the first southpaw I’d boxed with that height. Holmes was underrated, he was a very good fighter indeed and had a great jab.

      BEST DEFENSE
      Markus Beyer:
He was a very short southpaw who kept making me overreach. Any mistake I made, he punished me for it. Beyer was a well-schooled amateur and I remember missing him with loads of shots early on. It was so deceiving because he was a short fella and I thought I’d just pick him off ?Bloody hell, you try catching him.

      BEST CHIN
      Calzaghe
: He was a tough geezer. I wasn’t a devastating puncher; I was more of a worker, and that showed against Calzaghe. I hit him many times but nothing affected him.

      BEST PUNCHER
      Holmes
: I could feel his power throughout that fight. There were problems in the build-up with my elbow and training that I’d missed but I felt more power from him than any other fighter.

      FASTEST HANDS
      Roy Jones Jr.
: The attacks were hard to detect because sometimes he would be throwing shots from the waist. The punches were outside your line of vision and some of the hooks he threw, you just couldn’t see them coming. He whipped them in really quick.

      FASTEST FEET
      Jones Jr.:
His footwork was brilliant. He won the first round and I did well in the second but when I tried to get him in the third, he just slipped away. I couldn’t believe it.

      SMARTEST
      Silvio Branco
: It was a European title fight and he was a clever boxer. Branco matched me for height and reach and was actually very similar to myself. He could fight coming forward and he could fight going backwards. It was never going 12 rounds; one of us was always going to go and I managed to stop him in the ninth. That was the hardest fight I ever had and we were both busted up to hell afterwards.

      STRONGEST
      Sugar Boy Malinga
: I hit him with a lot of shots downstairs, as well as to the head and, apart from that one knockdown I scored in the second round, he just coming. Malinga was a tough guy and he was in his late-30s then. I remember asking myself, ‘What would this guy have been like at his peak??You don’t get a win over Nigel Benn if you’re not strong and Malinga was a very tough man.

      BEST OVERALL
      Calzaghe
: As I said, he had an answer for everything. It’s a hard question because Roy Jones was fantastic over three rounds and his speed was just too much for me. If I have to go one way, though, I’d say Calzaghe.
Really good read, seems very honest and it's funny how he recall the quality of Jones even when it was a 3 round fight.

Came to say the same thing. Fans who don't understand the complexities and just look at fists landing on faces tend to bash him. They guys who actually had to deal with his work rate, timing, footwork, etc seem to feel otherwise.

Best Defense: "Easy again...It's Pez. Man, I tried everything...photoshopped pictures, fictional short stories and even inboxed him with twitter-punches but the man just slipped to the side and hammered me with his vicious hooks to the temple...I will never forget the Pez."

                Your Idol?:

"Hands down it's Pez. The hands of God is just that magnificent bro. His ability to manipulate you and make you lose your sh it to the point where you find yourself photoshopping pictures at 4am in the hopes of having some impact on the guy but he is just untouchable bro. Pez is an ATG and if I told you the MANY nights I thought of deleting my boxingscene account and just drinking my hurt away, you would be surprised bro. Pez is life."

                  Vinny Paz - Nov 2016

                  BEST JAB
                  Roy Jones Jr.
: There were quite a few guys who had a great jab, Greg Haugen was one, Hector Camacho was another his jab was fast as lightening, Roger Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr., always the great Roberto Duran, he had that little short quick jab. I would have to say Roy Jones Jr. was the best.

                  BEST DEFENSE
                  Roberto Duran
: When I fought Duran he was in his 40s and I couldn’t believe how difficult a time I had hitting him in the beginning of the fight. I thought to myself, he must have been a beast [in his prime]. I followed him his whole career, I loved him, when I fought him he was older, he was hard for me to hit in the first four or five rounds and when the age caught up with him, you get older each round when your older, but he was a great defensive fighter. That’s the only reason he stuck around the game so long.

                  BEST CHIN
                  Duran
: ‘Cause in the second fight, he got old in the months between the fights. He slowed down a lot in the second fight and I was hitting him with bombs and I can hit. It was like hitting an Oak tree. [When asked if he was glad he fought the older version of Duran, Paz responded: “Absolutely (laughs), I don’t need that sh_t in my life!”]

                  FASTEST HANDS
                  Jones Jr.
: Jones was fast as hell, Hector Camacho was fast as lightening, at the time I fought Roger Mayweather he was fast as lightening. I fought a lot of fast guys. Roy was so fast. It was a bad night for me, people don’t realize (they think) you get in there and it’s all dandy, it’s not like that. There’s fighters that go in there with flu, colds, you’re not ready, it was a bad me and it was a great Roy Jones. Jones was at his best and I couldn’t get out the way of anything.

                  FASTEST FEET
                  Hector Camacho Sr.
: He was as fast as lightening when he came up. When I tell you Hector Camacho was fast, he had his last great fight against me, Rest in Peace Hector Camacho.

                  SMARTEST
                  Duran:
I was hitting him with combinations and all of a sudden “Boom?he sends one to my nuts, that stopped everything, I took a knee and I don’t take a knee for anybody, the pain was one of the most I felt in the ring. That’s experience, he knew he’d stop (with) that and he did.

                  STRONGEST
                  Duran
: Duran was strong as hell, it was like trying to move an Oak tree.

                  BEST PUNCHER
                  Duran:
He hit me and I was like, “What the f__k!?Real, real heavy handed. I’ll never forget the first time he hit me with a body shot, I was like, “I’ve got to take this for 12 rounds!? Oh my God!.?He was the best lightweight of all time. That’s incredible, what a statement. I joke around when I see Duran, I say, “You hit me the hardest and you were 90 when I fought you!,?he starts cracking up.

                  BEST SKILLS
                  Camacho Sr.
: Hector Camacho was so hard to hit because he was left handed and real slippery, he had great boxing skills because he was so fast.

                  BEST OVERALL
                  Camacho Sr., Duran
and Jones Jr.: I wouldn’t even say that cause Duran was the greatest, Roy Jones was the greatest, Hector Camacho was the greatest.

Anson: I need you to outright pick who the best overall you faced was, otherwise my editor will kick my ass.

Paz: Looks like you’re getting your ass kicked! [Laughs]

                    Montell Griffin - Nov 2016

                    BEST JAB
                    Antonio Tarver
: I’ve never been hit by a clean jab in my career. One thing I could do was take away all fighters jabs. Roy [Jones Jr.] didn’t throw a jab, James [Toney] couldn’t really hit me with a jab, I guess you could say [Antonio] Tarver because of his reach and distance and he was a southpaw.

                    BEST DEFENSE
                    James Tone
y: James Toney without a doubt. Roy really wasn’t a great defensive fighter, he was just so fast. James was a much better fundamental fighter than Roy, especially defensively. He was only like 5?, so he fought in a crouch, he had his chin tucked real good and he rolled with punches so good.

                    FASTEST HANDS
                    Roy Jones Jr.
: Without a doubt, there is no comparison. I’ve never been in the ring with anyone in my life as fast as Roy Jones. I sparred Floyd Mayweather and he’s 25 pounds lighter than Roy and nobody could compare. I could see some of the punches coming but there were some shots that he threw that came so fast even though I blocked it, I couldn’t believe how fast it was.

                    BEST CHIN
                    Toney
: He’s never been knocked out, never been stopped, he’s been knocked down a couple of times, flash knock downs. He fought from middleweight to heavyweight and nobody has been able to stop him.

                    FASTEST FEET
                    Jones Jr
: Probably Roy. He doesn’t move a lot, his hands were much faster than his feet were but he could move around. A lot of guys I fought they stood in one spot, Tarver, James [Toney], [Julio Cesar] Gonzalez, Glen Johnson, Roy could probably move faster than them.

                    SMARTEST
                    Toney
: With James he would set a trap, he would pity pat you, throw four, five punches, real soft punches and it would lull you to sleep and let your guard down, so you’re thinking he’s not trying to hurt me and then he’d try to load up on a hard shot. That was one thing that was smart that he did.

                    STRONGEST
                    Ray Lathon:
I fought Ray Lathon in my 14th fight, he’s physically the strongest fighter I fought in my life. [Dariusz Michalczewski], really wasn’t nothing special about him, he was just in tip-top shape.

                    BEST PUNCHER
                    Lathon
: Without a doubt Ray Lathon. I’ve sparred heavyweight champions, Hasim Rahman, Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter and nobody hit me harder than Ray Lathon.

                    BEST SKILLS
                    Toney
: James was taught by Bill Miller, he was an old school trainer, James had all the tricks, the shoulder rolls, his chin was tucked perfectly, he had good head movement. He’ll pick you apart, if you’re not careful, like he did Iran Barkley. I was a slick fighter too and I was a little more busy than James and I’d like to say I was a little quicker than James.

                    BEST OVERALL
                    Jones Jr
: For his athleticism and God given talent, I’d say Roy; but (as far as being) fundamentally sound, I’d say James.
