No, Garcia agreed to a minimum number of fights, not a fixed amount of fights like you seem to be implying.

This means that while Garcia is only obligated to give a minimum number of fights, Arum is allowed to exclusively offer him an infinite number of fights until the expiration of the contract. And that expiration is the date specified.

so, bob is giving chavez 7m to fight ggg, then 10m or 5m for his next fight, while richard and haymon pay their guys 1.5m per fight for fighting the biggest draw according to some and bob is the bad guy?

god ******s on these sites lol....

so many two faced women on this site, those who support guys like richard robbing golden boy, typical low life trash

This is how I always thought these contracts worked. A 3 year 6 fight deal means that the fighter has an obligation to fight for a minimum of 6 fights over the next 3 years. If he fights 6 times in 1 year or 2 years he's still under contract for 3. The expiration date is the expiration date.

Never for the life of me will I understand why people defend Bob Arum. But arguing these people doesn't work because they are not interested in debate, they are interested in flaming you. I am too old to engage in flame wars against children.

I don't think it works like that. Because then that opens up a whole bag of worms that can easily lead to litigation. If the expiration date is so critical, than that voids the necessity to fight a minimum or maximum number of fights. Instead the fight has to fight X amount of times as deemed by the Promoter. That means the fighter can easily be forced to fight more than what the contract says, or be stuck in a situation even after fulfilling obligations.

It just doesn't make any sense, and any decent lawyer would spot that mark easy. So I'm willing to bet the contract ends when obligations are fulfilled.

Don't know why anyone defends any promoters.

All of them are parasites, none of them put their bodies on the line for our entertainement.

Arum, Haymon, etc - all are scum out for their own interest at the expense of the sport, sometimes even their clients.

Not a fan of MMA, but my god how I wish for a UFC-type structure for boxing sometimes (attitude to performance enhancers aside).

Because the UFC fight structure is so much better for the athlete?

Do you guys realize that Bob Arum blocked a great fight from happening because of his greed?

Also, if the contract was all that with the money and so forth thence why would there be a problem? Chavez Jr knows what he wants and what he don't want is to be sadduced by Arum.
