First of all when more people watch the replay they will see how ineffective Maidana actually was. So since the undercard and the opponent didn't help the PPV sell more than the card last year, it's pretty much worthless to re-spawn the same opponent.
I'll agree with that much. At very least it would represent a financial risk. I can see them looking towards:

Cotto II (if he beats Martinez)
Canelo II (if he beats Lara)
    Khan (in November)

Thought it would do more TBH. It's funny seeing big corps lose money though

Funny how certain people are very trusting in his words now~

I think he came up with those numbers after doing his homework and published them on that website.

If you know so much about PPV numbers than how many buys does this need to break even?

And I don't want you to pull a number from thin air. Make a list of expenses (50% goes to satellite distribution, advertising/marketing, travel expenses, insurance, GBP fee, undercard, etc)
Again, he got that from an Espinoza quote. There is nowhere in that article where he shows any information that says otherwise. He did not do his homework and anyone can easily tell. I'm pointing out this fact, because it is a fact. And I quoted the original source material.

How many buys does this fight need to break even? I do not know, nor do I care. But it is not $1.5 million. Are you nuts? That's suggesting that in order to make even a decent profit off the fight, it needs to sell maybe $2 million PPV buys. Only fools believe this, and this is why people need to think for themselves and think critically when they read as there are a lot of garbage writers out there today thanks to the internet.

Another money loser for Showtime. How's that $32 million guarantee looking now. And I laugh at the people who said Canelo didn't bring any fan base with him PPV number wise. We've seen 2 flops financially for Showtime out of 3 fights.
out of 3 fights he has done 3.8-3.9 million in ppv sells
