Everyone is making some great points. The main stream public is starting to catch on little by little. People that are champions are not fighting the best out there, period (trying not to name names but you guys know who I'm talking about) People want to watch drama in the ring, real drama not staged drama so you can cash in on a mediocre trilogy.

The old timers like Arum don't want to let go of the easy money they are making now and let their fighters fight fighters from other promoters. Everybody is getting screwed especially the fans. But what alternative do we have? Boycott all fights? Boxing has been controlled by shady people since it first started. How can it be cleaned up?

Let me say this a different way:

If a company was ****** and irresponsible enough to give a fighter over $200 million over the course of a 6 fight contract, knowing ahead of time that each and every fight would have to, at the bare minimum, crack 1.5 million ppv buys to turn a profit, (something that is pretty hard to do regardless of who it is) don't they deserve to be put out of business? Who exactly would you blame if what you're asserting is true: Showtime or Mayweather?
Obviously Showtime, no question there. No one is 'blaming' Floyd for accepting $32 mil minimums for his sparring matches. Everyone here would sign on the dotted line if given the chance. Show was desperate to rip Floyd from HBO (who declined Haymon's request for a 6 fight, $180 mil contract even after Floyd's last 4 fights averaged 1.3-1.5 mil for them) so they basically wrote him a blank check thinking they were getting Mike Tyson reincarnated (financially).

Espinoza is on record that Show had set a goal of 1.5 mil for the Guerrero fight. Obviously everyone there grossly overestimated his drawing power and their bank accounts are suffering as a result.

But Floyd gets his guarantee no matter what, unless he as the promoter has to recoup the guarantees with interest.

Floyd's drawing power has been badly exposed.

Correct me if im wrong, but the guerrero fight did 800k?

Stacked undercard + cinco de mayo, accounts for about 38% of the buys, which means floyd generated about 580k buys.

The Canelo fight sold 2.2 mill, but there were not just TWO, but FOUR additional factors at play here. Canelo, Mexican holiday, stacked undercard and an enormous promotional tour.

PPVs are not a linear or arithmetic game. Canelo as a B side adds 40% to your PPV buys. Mexican independence day is even more importnt than cinco de mayo, and of course the stacked undercard plays a huge role. Mexican indepedence day adds 40% and a stacked undercard, an extra 15%. Last but not least, there was a huge build up for this fight - they wouldnt do this unless it was expected to add a further 20% to PPV buys.

Floyd *1.4 *1.4* 1.15* 1.20 = 2.2 million. Which means floyd counts for about 815k of the 2.2 million by my estimations.

I've already done the calculation for the maidana fight, and proved that floyd contributed about 500k out of the 850k total. In total, I'd put Floyd's drawing power at roughly 650k - which is much lower than manny's.

When manny fought rios and bradley, the PPV numbers were reduced by factors such as fighting in macau and fighting a boring (yet top 3 p4p fighter) in bradley. But manny's drawing power is north of 800k for sure.

Floyd fans need not be angry. Floyd being a 600K drawing power is nothing to be ashamed of. The problem is the fact that showtime estimated him at over 1 million, which has so far proven to be a DISASTROUS mistake. Now we all know why manny's team laughed at the 40 million fixed offer. Floyd pays himself them the majority of his fees, which actually even further reduces his real drawing power, but i'm not exactly sure how to factor that into the calculation right now.
I can't believe y'all really sit around and dream this stuff up. Quite comical.

SHO hired Floyd to make a profit and to bring in more viewers to SHO boxing. Floyd is losing them 10's of millions of dollars and has put himself in a negative limelight.

Those 10's of millions of dollars have to be taken out of their yearly boxing budget.

Is that simple enough for you?

I always found it interesting that Dan Rafael gets the rumored numbers for a Mayweather fight from industry sources, refusing to believe what the promoter says (as he did iwith the Guerrerro fight). For those of you who are too ****** to undertand it, industry sources is a euphemism for I pulled this information out of my a.ss. Yet, when it comes to Pacquaio fights, he doesn't rely on industry sources, but takes whatever Bob Arum says as gospel, even though he knows Arum lies like a rug.

Showtime hasn't lost a dime because of Floyd. The only ones who believe that are people who are ****** enough (such as you) to think that Showtime is guaranteeing Mayweather's contract and paying him $32 million per fight.

Do you have any clue who is providing the guarantees? I know before the Show deal Floyd was on his own in that regard. Haymon used his music industry contacts to raise the capital for Floyd fights in the past.

I don't give a damn if your name is Pacquiao, or Mayweather, or what the fuck ever. To get 900,000 people to sit down and pay $70 to watch you, is amazing.
The tards are just mad because they went on a crusade to get people to boycott boxing while ending up missing a great and exciting fight.

It wouldn't matter if the numbers had been 1.5 million or 500,000 they would be in here crying.

At the end of the day, these cowards tried to get people to boycott boxing. That's all anyone needs to remember about that fake "fan" base.
