So, some people can defend the fighter or defend the businessman...tough to do both.

Glovegate proved them right.
Its funny to see how the floyd minions try to justify it by saying its a marketing tactic. Seemingly everything he does, is a marketing tactic to them and its "genius".

PPL are to used to one million plus sales. 800-900 is not a bad number, anything over 400,000 is not bad. Maidana is not a big star and not known.
Unless they need more than 1 million buys for Showtime to make money then they are in trouble because there is no other fighter to make big numbers other than Pac or the winner of Canelo/Martinez

And it's basic logic. $32 million guarantees and 800K buys don't mix. Several sources, including the head of Showtime Boxing himself say that 1.5 million is the magic number. With the exception of Canelo, Floyd's fights are doing about half that amount.
The guy who first reported the fight did 850K said GBP was busting out the red ink. Basic common sense here people.
Let me say this a different way:
If a company was ****** and irresponsible enough to give a fighter over $200 million over the course of a 6 fight contract, knowing ahead of time that each and every fight would have to, at the bare minimum, crack 1.5 million ppv buys to turn a profit, (something that is pretty hard to do regardless of who it is) don't they deserve to be put out of business? Who exactly would you blame if what you're asserting is true: Showtime or Mayweather?

the numbers are bad because floyd was guaranteed $32 million...meaning he got overpaid that put the other parties involved to lose money.
also, floyd had a hand in choosing his undercard...he personally asked khan and broner to be his undercard which schaefer termed as the most expensive undercards to date but of course it added up to the losses.
it a harsh reality and it burns you but it is what it is.

But that leads to another question, When SHO's boxing budget is bankrupt and can no longer put on cards for multiple weekends or even at all, who is to blame? In my opinion its Floyd.
