Comments Thread For: Ward: Goossen Has Not Offered Fight Since December

Andre Ward’s promotional struggles continue as the undefeated Super Middleweight is trying to break free from current promoter Goossen Tutor who he’s been with since his professional debut. Ward has a pending lawsuit against Goossen Tutor that was filed in California Superior court. An arbitration hearing held by the California State Athletic Commission this past Thursday found Ward’s promotional contract with Goossen to be valid until November 8, 2016 but Ward is still pursuing his court case.

Despite the lawsuit, Ward informs that he is still free to make fights and work with his promoter but the problem is he has not received an offer since December of last year. Five months later Ward is on the sidelines and frustrated with his current situation. [Click Here To Read More]

Andre, that's what happens when you bite the hands that feed you.

And fighting solely in Oakland also diminished your market value. You're not famous even if you're very good so asking for a big payday isn't really realistic.

Well isn't he suing Goosen? So how can he offer him a fight?

Why would Dan Goosen work hard to get you money and a good fight when you're suing him Ward?
Is this guy really that ******?

On another hand: who really wants to fight Ward at 168 at this point?

I didn't hear any fighter calling him -- not even to cross the pond...

hard for a guy to talk to you about fight if you're suing him at the same time...

when it comes to making big fights ward hasn't got the right attitude.

                1. he sees himself as the draw when in any big potential fight it would be his opponent ... froch/chavez/ggg who would be the draw. this makes negotiations instantly very difficult.

                2. he calls out these guys occasionally but demands that they make all the concessions ... not just re weight (Dawson has to come down ... ggg has to go up etc) but also location ... I'll fight you ... in my home town.

                3. He's not willing to move up in weight where there are big names ... hopkins/stevenson/kovalev waiting.

Froch wanted the rematch in the UK, and Ward made a stinker about not wanting to go there, and wanting the larger part of the pie.
