Elite and Guerrero shouldnt be in the same sentence, after that onesided mayweather fight. Guerrero should go fight a molina, anyone of 'em. that seems to be a name for people to get their mojo back. Matthysse, Broner.....lol

I agree, that whack performance did nothing To raise his stock, so he complained about not getting money fights he felt he deserved...he got his wish though, he got haymon and now he would get more money for a thurman fight now...i think he should take it, i think he has a shot to derail the thurman "hype" train.! Or at least we will see if thurman has the goods!

Im a Floyd fan but a boxing fan first and I would love to see Floyd school this kid but you have to earn it somehow. Khan doesn't deserve it but he has fought some very good fighters @ 140, still he clearly doesn't deserve a Mayweather fight. I say if Collazo wins he deserves Floyd in September but if Con wins he should fight Thurman, Porter or Guerrero with the winner getting a Floyd shot. Actually the 4 should be in a mini tournament next, the winner would clearly deserve a shot, the hype would be crazy!!! Unfortunately only the hardcore fans would be interested in Mayweather vs Thurman right now and even most of them would say Thurman was green after Floyd schools him.

Any up and coming talent always looks dangerous when fighting Thurman's quality of opposition. But lets see him beat some top fighters in a main event to sell the public on why he is a threat. Or else he's just another young fighter with hand speed and some TKOs vs gatekeeper opposition.

Regardless of whether you like it or not, Mayweather and his team take a business approach. Especially now. They fight guys who at least have some sort of "what have you done for me lately/in your last fight" and some sort of market. Floyd is a brand, about making money and looks for name opponents (prime or not), titles at stake and/or opponents with some marketable fan base to stage his "Mayvents". At the end of the day, he's looking to make as much money on his brand as he can. He's not looking to fight any risks for the heck of it during this stretch. Porter deserves a Floyd fight before Thurman after his dominance vs Devon and Paulie. But even Porter isn't much of a name nor has much of a following. The way Canelo and Trout battled, have Thurman and Porter fight each other to sell themselves as a real threat and not just two green challenges with some power and speed like every other new arrival on the scene.

Khan is being given, probably his last shot, to prove himself as a general public sell for a Mayweather fight. He's is the co-feature, for a title, vs a WW who is coming off of an unexpected KO win. Khan also has a British fan base and a style/length to sell him as a threat.

Maidana had just beaten another high profile fighter in Broner in a main event, good fight, the general public has been sold on Broner being "like Mayweather", etc***8230;etc..

Canelo had just beaten the undefeated and at the time, seemingly hard to look good against Trout (who had beaten Cotto). He also had a popular market.

Guerrero had just beaten a worn Berto, but in a good fight. Guerrero also has an outspoken team and a mexican fan base. Enough to stay busy before Canelo.

Cotto had just avenged his loss to Margarito and had financial upside to his name, market.

Ortiz had just beaten Berto in a fight of the year for a title. That title gave him some upside and the main event win in a great fight helped sell.

Mosley, while a year out, had just beaten and KO'd the avoided and ironed chinned Margarito to lay claim as the recognized best WW in the world.

Marquez, was smaller, but just topped Juan Diaz and Casamayor. He was also a name who had given Pacman fits.

Hatton was undefeated with a market and made noise easily KO'ing a past prime Castillo who was old, but it just added to the sell of the fight.

DLH was the Golden Boy which = money and a title at stake.

Remember that a key group is "the general public"…internet posters don't make up 1.5million PPV buys. So even though WE may feel that a certain fighter may be more of a threat due to style, arm length, etc, the general public that makes up at least half or most of the buys is usually sold on the fighters who had some sort of big win, credible career or a title. Or else a fighter like Thurman or Porter will easily be written off as some young, inexperienced, not ready challenger as Floyd picks them apart.

Floyd is smart and experienced. His only other challenger is Pacman. That's more of an era thing. Pacman has the attributes and experience to make it the fight people REALLY want to see.

they dont rank him because he's the WBA interim champ, and sanctioning organization never rank the other organizations champions......

"But my big question really is where do I fit in? Because I didn't fit in to the major leagues this time, this go around. But you can't count me out, man. It's time to put in the work. I put in the work. I made that hard work look like easy work and I plan on continuing to do that, man. I'm not threatened by any man in the welterweight division, and that includes our king Floyd "Money" Mayweather."

I'm amazed at the lack of research one does before posting utter nonsense. Guerrero was presented with a comeback fight against Keith Thurman and team Guerrero didn't want it.

                    Fight Berto? F--ing laughable!

Maidana loses to glass jaw Khan, beats an overhyped nobody (Broner) and he was more deserving of the shot against Mayweather?

You all are brainless when it comes to this, it's shameful.

Haymon is holding Thurman back, he called out Adrien Broner, Broner fought Paulie instead, he wanted to fight Paulie Malignaggi but Paulie took a fight with Judah instead.
Guerrero went running for the hills.
Khan don't want him neither; Khan couldn't handle Julio Diaz! LMAO

Boxers are clearly avoiding Keith Thurman because he is already the boogie man of the Welterweight division.
