Oscar has accomplished so much throughout his career, and deserves all the praise and accolades he gets. But he can't function as a business man for long if he can't get rid of his demons and get back on track to helping run his ship straight.

Richard has been the backbone of GBP and knows how to steer that ship better than Oscar himself can.

If Rich decides to partner up with Al as a promotional team, GBP's days could be numbered. If Oscar decides to do business with Bob at TR again, that may force Rich to move on, and might even force a merger between GBP and TR.

JMO and speculation of how things may shape up.

LMAO it's probably been cooked. That's why Schaeffer isn't signing an extension and doesn't care if he gets fired or not...with kids about to go to college and all. lol

Al Haymon fighters are about to go with Schaeffer once Schaeffer bolts.

The key thing who gets to keep Canelo?

rich built gbp!!! floyd said for years rich is the man at gbp. while oscar was out getting high, rich was in the trenches building the gbp brand. if rich, floyd and haymon started their own company, it would be the biggest promotional company in boxing period. with haymons rep for taking good care of his fighters, they would have no problem signing new talent. oscar now wants to put the vodka bottle down and show up at work and disrupt everything that was working just fine. oscar should be thanking rich not fighting him.

There's a simple solution, whenever De La Hoya wants to make a fight with Top Rank he can be the one to deal with Arum. He should just be careful that when he goes to hug Bob he doesn't end up with a knife in his back.

The rest of the time let Schaefer do what he does. He has steered the company very well while Oscar was off doing drugs and going to rehab.

I think its against the law for manager promoter to be in business together even though they are already

Well he did say he has tried over and over again to work with Bob Arum, but that is hasn't been reciprocated.

The real issue is whether he signed a non compete when he signed the employment contract for the position or in any subsequent extension contracts.

GBP can be operated by other high level execs, but being the crafty mofo that Schafer is, it appears he has been planning for a potential exit strategy down the line with Haymon, given the comments here that alot of Al's fighters aren't actually contractually tied to GBP.

                  Interesting times ahead.

All these fucking corrupt ass promoters should be barred from the the sport, replaced with one major company which takes care of all the fighters so no one can claim anyone is ducking or cold war, or whichever other BS they try and feed the public.

The guys are what is ruining the sport, they're making money off feeding the fans shit they don't want to see.

I sincerely wish a slow painful death to the promotion companies that are ruining this sport.

Well DeBouf is less volatile than Arum, and apparently he and Mayweather are on good terms, so it could pave the way for co-operation in the future.
