Atleast in the NBA, Lebron doesn't be like oh, we not playing LA in the finals. I don't like their owner. Or I'll only play vs Kobe if I get more than him this yr.

They'll argue that Ward is one of he top fighters in the world. He's gonna demand paper. I feel u though, HBO overpaid for that fight and are suffering now. Adonis is Ativan a coward IMO. I doubt he really wants any part of Drago.

Boxingscene's Stevenson accountants/promoters/advisors at work. They don't want to see interesting, potentially dangerous fights. They want to crunch numbers.

What GYM/Stevenson is doing still is still a bitch move, but I actually do believe them when they say the contract would have been signed quickly before Haymon's involvement if they offered the same type of money they offered Ward-Rodriguez. Or if HBO didn't set the precedent in the first place of paying 3 million for Ward-Rodriguez.

Didn't HBO take a stand against Ward and rejected a couple of his proposed opponents?

But as soon as he picked Rodriguez, they just threw a million dollars at him

I said it before and will say it again. This is on HBO. I'm not making any excuses for any fighter. But HBO caused this situation with their actions. Ppl might wanna be blind to it but if they arent gonna compete with Showtime for the best lhw fights then that's on them.

What Ken Hershman did feels like boarderline nepotism to me. Bringing over his personal Super Six created darling over to HBO after gettting the gig, only to pay the dude millions of dollars for easy work.

if I remember correctly Rodriguez initial purse was for 800k but somehow negotiated and additional 200k on top of that
