LOL at Kathy Duva getting caught in a lie...

On March 3, she said she was giving Stevenson until March 30 to accept a deal...then when Stevenson doesn't accept the deal and goes elsewhere, she claims she already had a deal...

    The female Bob Arum...

As well they should. Especially when some other company is willing to pay them more for the same work.

HBO is living in the stoneage where they think they can get on the air a scream and hollar "duck", get a legion of f.ucktards behind them screaming the same thing, and that will force fighters to play ball. Wrong on all fronts. They did the same with Floyd-Pac, and lost out. They're trying the same with Stevenson-Kovalev, and appear to have lost out. And after Martinez-Cotto, they're gonna try and force the winner into a GGG fight, and it ain't gonna happen. They need to pull their heads outta their asses and realize they aren't the pinnacle any more. And fighters aren't gonna allow HBO to treat them any kinda way to simply get on their telecasts. Showtime has stepped their game up and HBO better get with it. They're putting all their stock in Bob Arum, and a couple overrated Russians. Arum already showed he doesn't give a rat's ass about hbo when he took Pac-Mosley over to Showtime. And if HBO plays their cards wrong again, Andre Ward, who's a tough sell, is gonna end up exposing both Russians, and then taking his act to Showtime his damnself. Or leaving before he fights either and forcing them to match the Russians with each other because they have nowhere else to go.
        This. All day.

Dude as a neutral fan i'm starting to get pissed all i'm seeing out of team haymon is fighters bragging about how easy a win would be for them but they never f'ing sign up to fight..this is getting absolutely f'ing ridiculous now. Stevenson had all the cards in his favor in these negotiations, Duva would've conceded just about anything to make this fight happen and it still didn't happen. Literally its starting to feel like you'll have to give up your left nut, your first born, part of your soul and your left leg to get a fight made the public wants when it comes to team Haymon. Somehow I expect at least one moron to come in here and also blame it on Arum since that's BoxingScene's favorite punching bag..well this is now the 4th promoter to air out issues in trying to make a fight..when does the fault start to fall on haymon and company? Greed is destroying boxing man...

It will be funny if the 49 year old geezer beats Stevenson and his stock drops as badly as Dawson's. There will be no rematches nor will anyone clamor for one.

On the other hand, had he lost to Kovalev in a knock out, drag out Hearns/Hagler-esque fashion, it wouldn't even be that bad. HBO would offer more money for a rematch and you could milk a triology out of it.

How exactly did HBO drop the ball if no contract was in place for the fight...funny that Yvon and Al only went to talk to HBO about getting 20% more to fight Fonfara but didn't say jack shhh about fighting Kovalev. Would you pay Adonis 20% more to fight (Who) Fonfara? I doubt it.

He's got another middle man now collecting on his behalf, and how many middlemen does Haymon also have? You are going to fight Bhop, yeah well let's take a wild guess who is going to make the most money in that equation..certainly not stevenson. So yeah it may seem on the surface like you are getting more money but the reality is Showtime will be ok with giving him a few more tuneups and that's the problem...won't be no rush for a Bhop fight either because well it's not how Haymon works. We'll see more adonis against a few differently named versions of Fonfara before we even see a Bhop showdown...That is the only reason they left HBO. They tried the same shhh with Broner, let HBO make him a name..then when HBO wanted him to step up competition he left for Showtime..in Broner's case Karma got him via the name 'Marcos Maidana'.

the point is that if showtime is willing to pay more, they will continue to be willing to pay more. which is why instead of sticking to hbo and continually getting less, you go over to showtime and get more money. even if he pays more people he'll still end up with more money.

haymon is a non factor cuz he asked hbo to match so haymon would have made money off stevenson regardless of where stevenson fights. hbo just didnt try hard enough.

Honestly its hard to say Stevenson is in the wrong completely. He's clearly ducking though, and well before any of this happened made it clear he didn't want Lev.

With that said, it's hard not to look at HBO and ask WTF they are doing, and what are they even in it for. The facts are they severely overpaid for a ****ing tuneup fight and weren't willing to pay for one of the biggest fights in 2014. I'm all in on levy hear, and if you read my previous posts you would see that, but HBO dropped the ball. Not Stevenson or his team.

I'm basically backing up and doing a 180 on this situation.
