Pretty much this. I personally don't like the guy, and HATE his NUT HUGGING fans, but you can't deny how damn good he is in the ring.

Everything that is wrong with boxing:

          Elite skill
          Responsible defense
          Like taking your craft serious
          Living in the gym
          Staying in shape year around
Fighting at your walk around weight
          Controlling your career
Taking the lion's share of the money and sticking it to greedy ass promoters
Bringing casual interest in the sport

That damn Floyd Mayweather. He's everything that's wrong with boxing. We need more fighters like Brandon Rios and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

I'm somewhat of a fan because of his ability and talent. But I can't stand his overly obsessed fans and I don't care for his opponent selection. Granted, not every possible fight can be made for a multitude of reasons, but he doesn't want to risk retiring undefeated.

This ^^^ is what a real fan sounds like and is the only Floyd fan on this forum that keeps it real and isnt a racist ******.

As for floyd himself, he is an excellent fighter, he just avoids threats and always has a ton of excuses....ALWAYS! This affects his legacy to real boxing fans, people that were into the sport before he showed up and will afterwards. The casuals and 99% of the racist floydspastics on this forum will melt away when he's gone or just transfer their devotion from 50% ******ation, 50% racism into 100% race baiting. We are seeing the evidence of this in the way these ******s are reacting to GGG and Kovalevs success.

I was a fan of his in the earlier phase of his career, but his obsession with money is grotesque and has led to him always taking the path of least resistance. His talent and ability could put him amongst the very best fighters ever, yet he simply doesnt have the body of work to rubber stamp it. He has avoided his biggest threat and rival like the plague and is unique in that regard amongst great fighters of the past. The true greats got the hell on with it and sought out and fought their biggest rival.

It sucks, but its just the way HE has made it. He will be set for life, rich beyond his wildest dreams, but a truly great fighter? Too many question marks.
