Of course its so. Not that different from choosing your opponent by beating berto. Remember ortiz and guererro had done little else- esp at 147 to deserve a fight wit floyd other than beatibg hype job berto

Khan isnt even a legit WW......

The perfect match for Thurman would have been Devon Alexander..................

I find it comical Thurman band wagoners will accept this shyt spewing from Scheaffer mouth when GB whole stable from 140-154 was free like 3 weeks ago............

He's being protected because they know he this big bad hypejob
You don't have to listen to Schaefer, just listen the excuses from Guerrero, Maidana, Malignaggi and Porter. Schaefer tried to make Thurman-Guerrero, it's on record.

Collazo and Diaz are the only two who called to fight Thurman.

Thurman could've fought Broner, Matthysse, Porter, Guerrero (although Robert ducked) Judah, Devon Alexander, Berto, Khan, Collazo, Josesito Lopez, I would've even settled for Pablo Cesar Canon or Malignaggi. Not to mention Thurman has fought at 154 and he could've fought any C level fighter there that would've been better than Diaz. Truth of the matter is Golden Boy has been putting on crapshows and floyds undercarriage would've been worlds better If they matched Broner vs Khan amd then anyone two boxers on this list.

Thurman's doing what he has to do. However at this point in his career lets see at lest 3 or 4 more fights out of him. Especially if he can't get the big fights right away.

Anyone not named Mayweather vs Thurman would be considered a great match up from 140 - 154.

Why the fcuk did this article bother mentioning Tim Bradley when he is a top rank fighter and GBP and TR don't do business together?!?! C'mon now man...stop making it seem as if Bradley was an option...

I want to see Thurman-Mayweather actually...since Mayweather won't fight the Pac-Bradley winner and he won't move up to fight the Sergio-Cotto winner...

Golovkin strategy? More like the Lara strategy - keeping Thurman and Lara away from your protected "cash cows" until the time is right.
