Stevenson will be strictly Showtime now and HBO isn't just gonna let Kovalev walk over to Showtime and hand them a showdown everyone wants to see

it's pretty sad when we can't get these awesome free fights to happen because of the network feuds

HBO is getting out of the game. Seems like it at least. How many cards have they had? How many do they have scheduled?

They're passing up on a lot of fights, but I see their reasoning of not taking this without a Kovalev guarantee....

This is the "work" of HBO Sports' chief Ken Hershman -- former chief at Showtime until Dec. 2011...

Good for HBO if this article is right. This is just Haymon extortion. Asking for a bigger than previously agreed upon purse without committing to the Kovalev fight.

Where HBO went wrong is that Stevenson has been asking for the Hopkins fight for a year now and Golden Boy reportedly even offered Hopkins to HBO for the fight. And HBO turned them down.

But now that haymon has something like 50 fighters, Showtime doesmt have the budget to pay all of these guys haymons crazy demands.

I'm glad HBO is sticking to there guns. I never thought I'd see that day.
This is why just about all Haymon fighters fight about 2 times per year

Let Haymon have the burden of overpaying this guy. Poor Showtime. It's becoming Haymon's piggy bank.

That's why fights are getting rarer and rarer.
