HBO declining to overpay for haymon fighters who don't deserve it, and instead Showtime just took HBO's place.

But now that haymon has something like 50 fighters, Showtime doesmt have the budget to pay all of these guys haymons crazy demands.

I'm glad HBO is sticking to there guns. I never thought I'd see that day.

Stevenson became a world champion at 36 and wants to maximize his earnings. I think its obvious he wants to take two fights (3 fight HBO deal) he believes he can win easy before Kovalev, because that fight is as 50/50 as it gets and its gonna end in a KO no doubt about that.

I dunno, this kinda seems like a chess move to me. Sign with Al, have his new team approach HBO with a signifigant raise in requested amount knowing they will get denied, go to Showtime for this fight and now have HBO's attention leading into a potential fall clash with Kovalev. Know HBO is not willing to fork up the big $ for him vs Fonrara, but they most likely will for Kovalev, and asking for more $ prior to than gives him a better chance at getting a bigger payday to fight Kovalev than would have been the case before. Y'all don't read between the lines.. just read the lines and start spewing your nonsense. If you ask me, this is him setting up to get a bigger piece of the pie from HBO to fight Kovalev.

Like I said, Haymon and company will eventually kill boxing.

Who is there for Stevenson to make the kind of money he's asking for? Even stars don't make that much without being paired by another star.

But who can blame duckers? It's their lives that are at risk. These ducks need to switch to golf or something.

Yeah, the irony in that scenario never ceases to amaze

You Stevenson, and haymon are overestimating the demand for Stevenson vs Kovalev, neither of these dudes are stars. And if HBO wanted to stay in the haymon, GBP business, we would see there fighters on HBO.

You sign with haymon or GBP, your really risking HBO telling you to screw off. They have finally seen the light.

And I as I mentioned earlier, if you sign with haymon and GBP right now, enjoy fighting over that budget against the rest of haymons fighters.
