Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire Taking Vetyeka Camp Very Seriously

Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire (32-2, 21 KO’s) will train for two months as he chases a fifth world title when he battles WBA featherweight champion Simpiwe Vetyeka (26-2, 16 KO’s) of South Africa at the plush Cotai Arena of the Venetian Resort and Casino in Macau on May 31.

Donaire who arrived yesterday along with wife Rachel and son Jarel was guest on several radio and TV programs of the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN which telecasts his fights, told the krikya360.com/Manila Standard over breakfast that Vetyeka has some power but that Darchinyan also had power.

And there's the excuse we've all been waiting for. So THAT is why Rigo, spanked, breast fed, powdered his toouchie, changed his diaper and than swaddled him! Because he didn't study tape!!!

    I love moments of clarity

Isn't Vetekeya the guy who went to Indonesia and beat Chris John? Not an easy fight. It will be tough for Donaire.

This would be an impressive comeback win for Donaire. I dont like his excuses for the Rigo fight. Just take the loss and move on. Still a great talent with one punch KO power.

Yeah, until he gets whooped! Then we hear he was back to discussing strategies over the phone again with RG. Before the Rigo fight, he went on about how he feels great n we would see the best possible Nonito. After the fight came excuse after excuse.

Donaire isn't shot, he has simply peaked.
He no longer has the massive size advantage and strength at the weight.

Flyweights, and bantaweights rarely can carry their power and speed all the way up the the featherweight division, especially when they're past 30 yrs old. Usually they hit a ceiling as we see here with Donaire. Only exception I could think of is Manny Pacquiao.

as he should be. i'm not sure there's much point for him to continue with his boxing career. his last fight with darchinyan took a lot out of him. if he loses, he can probably get 1 more fight before he calls it quits
