Basically it is that. No one expected a hulk version of Marquez. Manny sacrifices his jaw whenever he fights Marquez in order to get closer. PAC definitely got his first lesson in PEDS from that KO.

Brandon Rios went 12 rounds. There is no exaggeration lol. Luckily for Manny fans, he's still good enough to beat C & some B level fighters.

People say Manny has declined since the evisceration of Antonio Maragarito so let us look at his fights since then:

2011 Shane Mosley- He won 11 of 12 rounds with the only round being lost involving a false knock down. The Iron Jawed Warrior Mosley was put down very very hard by a left hand early in the fight. Only the second time in his career Mosley had been down.

2011 Juan Manuel Marquez- Great performance by Marquez. Manny lost 8-4 and was outboxed for the majority of the fight but benefited from the robbery decision.

2012 Timothy Bradley- Great performance by Manny who won 9-3 by my score, but unfortunately was robbed himself this time. People over look the fact that Manny conclusively beat a guy who is now no. 3 p4p, a top level guy.

2012 Marquez 4- What a fight. As Nacho Beristain said, the hard right hand that knocked Manny down early "awakened the beast". Manny's killer instinct returned and he was winning until he got his lights turned out.

2013 Brandon Rios- Beautiful outboxed a lesser opponent. Sensational whooping

As you can see the decline just is not there. Pacquiao is still a top 2 P4P talent and the beast shall return for a few last throw downs, mark my words.
1: Manny never beat Marquez ( not on my scorecard)

2:Shane Mosley was a shell of his former self

3:Rios is a very, very limited fighter and nowhere near the world class level

4: In 2008 Pacquiao beat Cotto in his best win to date, knocking him down and stopping him. Then he couldn't drop or hurt a Rios who I seen Abril and Alvarado stun a few times.

He has declined a hell of a lot. But so has Floyd, Cotto, Sergio , Wlad. So it appears all guys are still performing great. But real fans know the story.

Guys like Thurman, Brook and Garcia are hugely dangerous fights for Manny now. Guys who I would have thought he'd beat handily a few years ago.

we also saw pacquiao can still rev up the engine to the max in the 4th marquez fight before he got caught.

pacquiao chooses whether to push the pace or just ride it

This is pathetic. You could say that about Floyd too and it'd be instantly picked as nonsense. Floyd stopped everyone for years. So I guess he just doesn't want to anymore. Grow up you pathetic fanboy.

It might be a bit over-exaggerated, but he's clearly in decline. Like many said, Prime Pacquiao DESTROYS Rios.

Of course he has declined, he's been fighting for 19 years. How many offensive fighters are still fighting at their best after 19 years?

I've always wondered why people deny that a boxer in his mid-30s isn't as good as he was half a decade earlier. I just don't understand. Pacquiao has obviously declined, just because he's great doesn't mean he's the same guy he's always been.

He's declined a little bit but he's not done. His problem has always been lack of focus. He's got other things going on in his life and I think he's only fighting for the money. Can't knock him for that because he's paid quite handsomely.
