Manny Pacquiao's decline has been greatly over-exaggerated: A look at recent fights.

**PEOPLE LET ME FROM THE OUT SET SAY THAT THIS THREAD IS NOTHING TO DO WITH FLOYD** So lets refrain from a handbag fight boys lol

People say Manny has declined since the evisceration of Antonio Maragarito so let us look at his fights since then:

2011 Shane Mosley- He won 11 of 12 rounds with the only round being lost involving a false knock down. The Iron Jawed Warrior Mosley was put down very very hard by a left hand early in the fight. Only the second time in his career Mosley had been down.

2011 Juan Manuel Marquez- Great performance by Marquez. Manny lost 8-4 and was outboxed for the majority of the fight but benefited from the robbery decision.

2012 Timothy Bradley- Great performance by Manny who won 9-3 by my score, but unfortunately was robbed himself this time. People over look the fact that Manny conclusively beat a guy who is now no. 3 p4p, a top level guy.

2012 Marquez 4- What a fight. As Nacho Beristain said, the hard right hand that knocked Manny down early "awakened the beast". Manny's killer instinct returned and he was winning until he got his lights turned out.

2013 Brandon Rios- Beautiful outboxed a lesser opponent. Sensational whooping

As you can see the decline just is not there. Pacquiao is still a top 2 P4P talent and the beast shall return for a few last throw downs, mark my words.

Without a doubt. The thing is Pacquiao had set such high standards with his 2008-2011 run that as soon as he let his foot off the pedal a bit people started with the decline talk.

What Pacquiao has lost a tad of is the hunger and fire he once had but is understandable. He has accomplished pretty much everything any boxer could aspire to accomplish and it gets to a point where you have nothing else to prove. You already have the respect and status you once dreamed of getting. Anything else aside from a Mayweather fight seemed uninteresting.

I do believe he is starting to feel it again after losing some of that status with the Bradley robbery and Marquez freak accident which has led people to doubt him. It's not often you get a scenario like this where one revenge fight leads to another one. Perfect stage for one to get that motivation back.

he hasnt gone down hill completely and i do agree that the opponents he has fought since cotto is tougher but to say manny hasnt decline is false. manny has slow down and its only natural, the way he fights his body will go out first before any other boxers.

people like to talk and discredit pac's opponents after the cotto fight but if u really look at it, all of pac's opponents after cotto, although they might not be ranked in the top 5 at the time pac fought them but u cant denied the fact that those opponents were no push over.

like topic started has already mention, clottey tough as nail, never been stop, margarito, tough as nail again and manny fighting him at 150, mosley tough as nail and never been stop, only been drop once prior to fighting pac, manny dropped him.

marquez tough as nail, gave pac hell for all 4 fights. marquez has never been stop. Bradley tough as nail, never been stop, manny beat him and 99% would agree with this. and finally rios, tough as nail never been stop and manny school him for all 12 rounds.

so in conclusion, pac has decline but he hasnt gone down hill completely, sure the opponents he's fought as of late are not rank but they are also not push overs.

He has declined. There is really no argument against that fact.

This is what happens to fighters in this stage of their career, they decline. And him being knocked out certainly didn't help.

I agree. He's declined but not nearly as bad as some make it seem.

I don't think he has declined at all. Marquez 4 was Manny at his best, it was the most exciting boxing match i've ever seen live, both guys deserve all the credit in the world. Then after that Manny boxes the socks off a guy, something we have never really seen him do. I think that there is life in the old dog yet.

I still back him to whup the shlt our of any welterweight in the world.
