Then I figured my su****ion was confirmed after a lackluster win against Trout and being taken to school by Floyd; I have to say though he more than impressed me tonight. He threw better combinations than I thought he was ever capable of and his defense looked extremely good. He seemed to have a much easier time with Angulo than Lara did and I was almost certain it would be the other way around. Lara is a mover and a boxer and I thought Canelo did a way better job of staying on the outside than Erislandy did. I expected this to be a much closer fight but after 1 or 2 rounds it was clear that Canelo was on a different level. After tonight I have to say he is at the top of the division, its him and Lara at the top (and Floyd obviously if you consider him a jr middleweight). Also I think he holds his own with anyone at 160. Truly a great performance
      C'mon man... lol. Okie dokie

I feel bad for Weeks because he's actually a really good ref. One of the better ones and he usually does a great job of officiating. Today was no exception. At first the sudden stoppage had me booing at my TV but that was the savage in me. The human in me felt that it was a good stoppage. A punchers chance is not worrh the risk of letting a good fighter, a good man and father take that sort of punishment. He was being outclassed completely. If it wasn't a shut out performance at that point than maybe Angulo has an argument but even gassed, Cannoli was doing the more damaging work in there. Good fight, good stoppage and good work by Canelo. He has no reason to not fight someone like Lara wit the boxing skill he actually has developed. Usin a lil Floyd shoulder rolling in there. Good for him. Still gassed tho..

I thought the stoppage was premature. Angulo is a pressure fighter. Their strength resides in tiring opponents with their constant pressure. Pressure fighters often only get to their opponents in the late rounds: for example, Margarito knocked Cotto out in the 11th, and Chavez jr knocked Martinez down in the 12th.

The referee robbed Angulo of 25% of the fight, and the most important 25% at that. Canelo had expended a lot of energy and is known for his stamina issues. I'm not saying Angulo would have won, his chances of doing so were probably no greater than 10%, but the ref should have given him the opportunity.

The referee should be made to wear a 'Captain Compassionate' cape in his next fight.

Nevertheless, Canelo looked very impressive in there and redeemed himself nicely.

Well said. I'm sure he was very well paid.

First Canelo has nothing against Mayweather then Angulo has nothing against Canelo..

Yes, Canelo was winning and more than likely going to get a UD. I like Tony Weeks but that stoppage came out the blue. Horrible timing on his part. Never expected that from Weeks. Canelo looked great in there, but el Perro looked out of it from the start, did not cut the ring off to save his life and had alot of Bradley's pity pat jabs n chit. Idk, Perro had a super off night and Canelo had a superb night………or the fix was in

Floyd would've probably won anyway BUT Canelo is the real deal and he's improved on his flaws, which were stamina and punch output. If he fights Floyd again, He most likely stops him. This is exactly how he should've fought Floyd and I bet you he knows that now. Good win tonight and Lara is next. Everyone seems to over-rate him as well. Canelo is a better fighter and is going to KO him.
He wouldn't stop Floyd. His Stamina looked better because he barely had to use any footwork. Missing punches takes out more energy than landed ones, and Canelo couldn't miss tonight. Against Floyd he had to move. He was wasting energy with his footwork alone, and then missing punching, and then having to throw combinations that were hitting nothing but air.

He can't beat Floyd. Styles make fights.

Canelo-Quillen for Choco's middleweight belt in Brooklyn makes more sense than Canelo-Lara.
