I agree with danny..all this fight is to me is a unification, its just not a competitive fight...it will look like the mayweather vs baldomir/guerrero/gatti fight watch.

Good job Garcia on stating the obvious.
It's funny... When you ask Floyd to fight a true contender you get: They're on steroids, they're too big, Floyd is too small, he can't sell, he needs to sign to TMT, he should avenge his losses and so on...

Do you think that Garcia or anyone would have said that if Floyd had accepted Sergio Martinez as a fight when he called out Floyd?

What was it again? Oh yeah "He's too big for Floyd" ...... yet Floyd fought 3 times at 154. You know, the weight that you said "its too easy for Floyd"

Keep them excuses coming but what Garcia is saying is that Maidana is a flat-footed fighter who Floyd welcomes as his cherry pick.

People keep clamoring for him to face brawlers..so he keeps fighting brawlers and then folks complain that pure boxers don't get much love..Floyd is the best pure boxer at 147, there are others in the division that can actually box but because of the business and politics it's always the brawlers who get the shot. Khan is a boxer, a horrible chinned one but a boxer nontheless he may not deserve the fight because he again hasn't done much but people can honestly say that a come forward boxer is going to give Floyd more problems..I don't think so. I'd rather see 9 rounds of competitive action between two boxers even if one ends up ko'd than 12 rounds of a one sided fight. I like Maidana I think he's on the right track careerwise but I don't see him being much threat past round 3 unless Floyd decides he wants to engage which is highly unlikely.

Floyd hasn't fought all that many brawler or even just pressure fighters recently.

Guerrero is kind of a brawler, Cotto is a offensive pressure boxer, Hatton brawler obviously, Baldomir a pressure guy. I wouldn't say any of those dudes are directly like Maidana and two of those aren't that recent.

Mosley, Canelo, JMM, Judah, Oscar and Ortiz are all boxers of some sort or perhaps boxer/punchers

Especially given Floyd's advanced age, older fighters are more susceptible to having a pace pushed on them even if they can limit it like a B-Hop it still can make a close fight go the other way.
Marga and Maidana fight nothing alike. Marga makes Floyd menstruate.
