he doesn't need to hype any fight. He's a class act and always pulls in big numbers. He even did 250k PPV against mayorga. This fight will sell very well I see around 700k maybe even more.

"Martinez said he would never going to ever forget that day. Now Cotto has a problem because this is very personal," said Lewkowicz to Carlos Narvaez. "Sergio was humiliated in front of everyone."

"With [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr., that was not personal. [Sergio] only felt that his title was taken away [without entering the ring]. With Cotto this is personal. He is so motivated by what happened. This is not for sport or for the championship. He is going to want to [pay] Cotto [back for what he did]."
But wait, what about this from an old article...

Despite the months of trash talking, Martinez reveals that only recently did his problem with Chavez "become personal." Apparently, Chavez made a comment during an episode of HBO's 24/7 reality series, and it hit a nerve with Martinez.

"He said something at the end of one of the 24/7s. He said to 'respect the sport' - to me. And I don't know anybody else who doesn't respect the sport like Chavez doesn't respect it. That comment made it personal," Martinez said.
Seems like Martinez and his team have a history of claiming 'it's personal' over something ****** and petty.

Who knows what really happened, but I can't imagine Cotto doing what Sergio claims. I mean maybe it happened -- who knows.

But if I had to bet money, I'd bet that Sergio is just trying to hype himself and build some anger/hate/motivation for this fight.

What I can take away from all this is that Martinez is one pretentious prick. It was probably nothing more than a misunderstanding. Anyway Miguel has a very good chance of outboxing you on fight night.

Well, if Cotto did want Martinez to walk to the ring first, I would say that's pretty disrespectful. Martinez is the champion here.
