Comments Thread For: Cotto Clueless at Sergio Martinez's Claim of Disrespect

Former three division champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) has no idea what WBC middleweight Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) is talking about - with respect to Martinez's claim that Cotto disrespected him several years ago at the ESPN studios in Mexico.

Sampson Lewkowicz, adviser to Martinez, says the fight with Cotto is very personal because the Puerto Rican star allegedly snubbed Martinez when he made an attempt to shake hands. Martinez, in a separate interview, made claims that Cotto was allegedly rude and abusive to the ESPN staff.

Cotto probably didn't even know who Sergio Martinez was.

Sergio wasn't really a star until he KO'd PWill and wasn't really a household name until the Chavez Jr fight.

Cotto probably thought Martinez was a regular fan and Sergio got butthurt.

Now Martinez is blowing the whole thing out of proportion to give himself some artificial motivation.

What a little liar that Sergio is. He was supposedly pissed because Cotto didn't acknowledge him lol.... what a sissy boy.

As much as I like Cotto, I feel Martinez is going to hand him a beating.

I've always thought this situation was a misunderstanding. Cotto was rude and disrespectful to 1 opponent, Antonio Margarito, and he more than deserved it.
