Just rewatch the fight and had it 114-114 draw, I remember there's a poster here who had a similar view of the fight like me, Rounds 2, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 for Mayweather and the other six rounds for Maidana, In the second half of the fight, Rounds 7-12, Floyd clearly won the rounds, but the two rounds he won before that were both competitive, I can't see how anybody had the first five rounds close, it's 49-46 for Maidana, Floyd gave away the 8th round because he complain a lot to the ref and in the 12th, Maidana did enough to win the round.
Perhaps the only way to win against Mayweather is if a boxer win 12 of 12 rounds, winning 5 or 6 rounds will not get you a decision victory or at least a draw.

No offense, but a lot of good posters on here are ****ty at scoring fights. I've watched the fight 10 times now, and i still have the same score,8-4. A case can still be made for a 7-5 Mayweather and i wouldn't have a problem with it. Any scorecards lower than that should be taken with a grain of salt. I still don't know how anyone with a working brain can score this fight a draw or a win for Maidana.
First six rounds
Mayweather: 2, 3, 6
Maidana: 1, 4, 5
Last six rounds
Mayweather: 7, 9, 10, 11, 12
Maidana: 8
There were a lot of close rounds, but in a lot of those rounds, Maidana did nothing more than roughed up Floyd against the ropes and only landed a few body shots in spurts.

If there's anything we can take from this fight, it's that Floyd hasn't looked this vulnerable in over a decade. Maidana is a solid, much-improved fighter but, pound for pound, I wouldn't put him on Jose Luis Castillo's level so I have to think that Mayweather is showing signs of the end. But this is what I love about boxing. Will his next fight resemble Tarver-Jones II? Or will it be a replica of the Nelson-Fenech rematch? Maidana has earned another shot and that's what I would like to see but, given how Floyd looked against him, a lot of possible matchups just got a whole lot more intriguing.

The rematch would look almost as identical as the first fight, it's just a style that Floyd has always struggled with and will always have problems dealing with. I think Shawn Porter would give Floyd hell at this point, but i still think Floyd can still look dominant against any other fighters out there who can't impose their size against him when it comes to fighting on the inside. The blueprint is there, but there aren't too many current 147lbs who are strong enough to impose their size and force him to fight on the inside with exceptions of, Maidana, Porter, Thurman(Maybe), etc.

Some people gave Maidana round 12. Some people thought he swept the first five rounds. There are a lot of sketchy scorecards around here and there were a lot of close rounds in the fight, but the most common scorecard is 7-5 Mayweather and that's the way it needs to be.
