Mayweather has a strong neck and even stronger midsection. No one suggests he can't take a shot. That's actually one of the secrets to his style. The ability to play off big shots. In those pull counters and straight rights he hit Maidana with in the center of the ring Maidana was trying to dissipate the force of the punch by rolling it or letting it move his head. The unfortunate after effect of trying to do that is it appears to the laymen that the punch is effecting you more than it really is. May is the opposite.. He knows a head snapped back or to the side makes a punch look stronger and higher scoring to his audience, so he keeps his neck rigid if he takes a hit. That's exactly what happened when his pull counter was countered by the right hand.

He can take a hit though. For sure.



Nice try... RIGHT after the fight Maidana had a casual dinner and played cards.. The vid you posted is from a day later, and even so, Floyd looks a bit worse for wear to me, silent as a statue and posture is off.

This was a good one.

I had the fight 8-4 Mayweather. For those who are gonna crap their pants over that' READ THE FOLLOWING. A lot of those rounds were close and very tough to score. I wouldn't have any problem with Mayweather 7-5 or even a draw to be honest.

One of Mayweather's toughest fights, and one of the dirtier fights I've seen in a while. The ref pretty much allowed both fighters to elbow and Maidana probably should've had a point taken for the low blows and rabbit punches.

It was a beautiful punch by Maidana, but it was a stun shot, 3 or 4 seconds later, Mayweather lands two shots and that straight right hand Maidana just countered.

The jab by Maidana in the end of the fight isn't talked about enough. Yeah Floyd countered it some times but Maidana landed that jab at will and kept Mayweather at bay when he was on the attack.

You've been making up opinionated guesses quite a bit. You tried to suggest Floyd was getting a massage because of what Maidana did, not realizing that he gets a massage after every fight.

Maidana did not land jabs at will, what fight were you watching? Did he land SOME jabs? Yes, no one will deny that. But at will?

And you try to discredit Floyd every chance you get, and then try to say I defend all the time is the perfect example of pot calling the kettle black. Coming from a guy with The Maidana Team as his sig. I never said it's OK for Floyd to choose Maidana's gloves. But if you want to try and call the 8 oz gloves pillows -- only keyboard warriors do that.

You say Floyd mentions he was sore from the fight, but a minute ago you were trying to suggest that Floyd was in so much pain til you informed that Floyd gets a massage after every fight. He said that he took a lot of punishment from Cotto and Augustus, so? He still won.

Floyd won the fight, get over it. You can try to spin things however you want, it won't change the fact that he won, and Maidana lost.

Floyd was beaten and battered after the fight. Did you see how he was sitting on the top of the ropes? He's never done that before. He's usually standing. Because of him sitting on the ropes, I gave Maidna the 11th and the 12th. He had to have landed the harder punches in the 11th and the 12th because the damage caused Floyd to sit on the ropes after the fight.

I remember seeing people on this site during the fight acting Maidana dominated which is laughable. People's obsession with discrediting Floyd is ridiculous. They grasp at straws just like Flomos do and they're too deluded to see it.

That said, I was very surprised at how this fight turned out. I was particularly impressed on how Maidana stuck to his game plan and there were times where I thought he had a chance at taking the fight. What saved Floyd was a consistent body attack which had a noticeable affect on Maidana as he slowed down.

In the early rounds, Floyd looked unusually uncomfortable out there, especially against the ropes. Good fight and I certainly wouldn't have a problem with a rematch.
