The fight is on the verge of being announced, barring a catastrophy. It's time to discuss Floyd's most dangerous opponent since Hatton, and the biggest threat to beat him since DLH. How does this fight play out?

Maidana is the slowest opponent Floyd's had since a fat JMM, probably the slowest since Baldomir in all honesty. He hits hard and that's about it.

This is a worse fight than the Guerrero bull****.

I never voted in any of the Khan/Maidana polls, i like both guys, Maidana more so but lets be real Neither guy is living with Floyd.......

Marcos deserves the shot, at least out of these two opponents, but he will be outclassed from the get go and it will be one of Floyds most one sided wins. Khan has looked awful lately and has been inactive so why he's even in the mix is beyond me other than Mayweather eyeing that UK PPV cash and also wanting a KO win! That said he gives FM more trouble than Marcos even if it is just for the first round or two until Floyd adjusts to the speed and starts timing him

They are both world class fighters but Floyd is on another level and because of that these big fights are actually mismatches... The only real tests left for Mayweather lie at Middleweight or in Manny Pacquaio and i'd like to see him test himself against Pac/GGG/Martinez before his contract and career are up

If a journeyman like Prescott can knock Khan out, Floyd should win comfortably.

Hell even Paulie looked much better against Broner, and he admits he was in more of his prime when he faced Khan.

So it's discredit who he beat instead of give props to the victor huh? That's the game we are playing?

Broner is still very naturally gifted and is still a handful for a lot of guys. He's a head case. He's overconfident, lazy, and his lifestyle doesn't befit the usual spartan way of living that the best warriors of our age have lived. He still has more heart than a guy like Ortiz, but he lacks discipline. He has the natural ability to have footwork, time punches, have great defense, and ect, he's just got to wrap his head around it. Wouldn't give up on Broner yet. Now if he continues to set a pattern of losing and making bad choices, then we can come closer to writing him off.

Which brings me to, Khan. When he lost to Prescott it was a blip in the radar because a pattern wasn't set.. He bounced back and did his thing. That's fine. But recently Khan has set a pattern of looking poor in 4 fights. Once a pattern starts to emerge it's very unlikely that fighter is going to pull a 180 and dazzle us. He will continue to follow the trend that is developing, in most cases.

Maidana is trending up and Khan is trending down.. Yet people on this forum are so fond of referring back to a Maidana before he started trending up, and to a khan before he started trending down. It's inaccurate not to consider the current set of circumstances and the context of each fighter's career at this point.

Which makes me think some people are just being willfully ignorant out of bias and nothing more.
