That is, they already had Cotto lined up and Roach knew that there was no way that Mosley was going to get a fight with Manny when there was a Top Rank opponent who BEAT Mosley who was ready and able to fight Manny next and that would have given great PPV numbers.

That's right. He never ducked Mosley. He took the fight Arum wanted against a guy that beat Mosley, was easier to make and paid better. People saying he ducked Mosley need to use their common sense. Pacquiao is fearless and Cotto was the fight any fighter in his position would have taken.If he fights Mosley he makes less money and Cotto fans say he ducked Cotto. Pacquiao doesn't duck fighters and he later beat Mosley in a shutout at the full 147 pounds or did you forget that. Pacquiao had nothing to fear from Mosley because he was a much better fighter.

Manny ducked Floyd and Shane in 2009 and 2010. Manny has also ducked all of the Golden Boy fighters over the last five years also.

Pac had better opportunities at the time and when shane finally got his chance to fight pac look what happened. After he got knocked down he ran away from pac for the rest of the fight

I can't believe people are actually trying to make excuses for Manny ducking Mosley in 09. Mosley said he would even fight at the CW and they still declined. Mosley was practically begging for the fight and they go on to fight Cotto even though BOTH Manny and Roach out of their own mouths said they thought Cotto lost his fight with Clottey... Roach out of his own mouth said he didn't want the fight because Mosley was too "good" and too "strong". Hard to take people serious on this forum. I mean people were shocked when Floyd stepped up to fight him. Even Arum said that Floyd would never fight Mosley right after they made excuses for Manny not to fight him. But now all of a sudden people want to forget that Manny did pick and choose his opponents at 147. Floyd did it and Manny did it but they want to give Manny a pass.

not only did arum say floyd wouldnt fight shane.....after the fight was signed roach said floyd would have to get on his bike to beat shane....that he wouldnt stand in front of him.....then after floyd does just that roach said floyd was slowing down and lost a step

my fave part of that is.....floyds trying, genuinely, to make the pac fight....it falls through yet pac miraculously has another fight and stadium ready to go with clottey....so floyd is like "**** what am i gonna do"....cause shane/berto was already signed and ready to go.....then floyds like "**** i need shane"......if the earthquake in haiti never happened im willing to bet berto would have come down with an "injury".....berto got some step aside money for sure
