Comparing PAC with a poor man's Duran is quite frankly, quite dumb and has really little or no basis to it.

PAC is dominating in a fashion that Duran never did, PAC has not only defeated Mexican all-time greats but also pummels them so bad, that it leaves no doubt as to who the winner is. Duran on the other hand, got beat by all his nemesis.

PAC like Duran posseses KO power, both are sluggers, small in size but makes up for it with a granite chin (although Duran was KO'd by Hearns), and both have similar styles. But that is where Duran's comparison with PAC ends.

PAC has improved and continues to peak where Duran was never able to accomplish. Duran got humiliated from slick boxers like Leonard, he was never able to answer the puzzles of fighters who have quick feet and quick hands. And there was never any controversy to his losses, he got beat because he had no answer to their slick moves. In fact, Duran quit. How can you compare PAC with Duran when he has never quit in any of his fights while Duran quit in frustration whenver his opponents won't face him toe to toe? PAC has found answers to difficult questions. Life long questions of how pure sluggers will be able to beat slick boxers. Throughout history, slick boxers have always been able to dominate sluggers (although sometimes, they achieved it with controversies) thus the saying that "styles make fights". PAC has improved and was able to demolish his enemies in ways Duran was never able to accomplish.

      End of part 1
Man this post is ****ing priceless.

Now Manny is better that one of the top 3 p4p fighters ever.

Just the fact that he called Duran a slugger tells me everything I need to know about this nuthugger's boxing knowledge.

This kind of nuthugging is unheard of. I mean, really unheard of.

Your arguments holds no basis whatsoever.
Pac started at 108, but that doesn't mean that's his natural weight. Pac is a natural super bantam, probably feather. Whereas Duran was a natural lightweight. For Christ's sake he dominated that division throughout an entire decade, like no one before or after him. Just the fact that you said that there were a bunch of no names in the list provided by Iwatchboxing, when all of them were boxing greats, prove how little you know about this sport.

I'm sure Pacquiao has a forum in his website. You should go and try your luck there. I'm sure you'll find more idiots whot think Pac belongs in the same sentence as Duran.

I would redirect anyone who asks me why I'm not a Pacquaio fan to this thread. It's nauseating to read but an important document. Pacquaio may be the most overrated fighter in boxing today, thanks to his obnoxious fans.

Without a doubt he deserves recognition as an exciting champion, but he has not proven himself to be anything more than an exciting champion with quick hands and a hard punch. There have been dozens of champions like him in boxing history. He certainly does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Duran. Not for beating MAB and a worn out, over the hill Morales (who beat him the last time around). Not yet anyway. Let's follow his career to the finish before we try to compare him to the greats.

I agree.....i think people are just ignoring Duran's achievements, Manny's career hasn't even finished yet. Its quiet possible that Manny could lose to Morales in the rubber match, that right there will diminish Manny's legacy.
Some people just have to face reality that Duran is a greater fighter than Manny Pacquiao.

Duran is the overall better fighter and yes there is no comparison. Manny Pacquiao is a fantastic fighter and still has about 3 or 4 years in him most likely, so we'll see what he can do before it's all over.

If you follow his first statement:
he is a quitter who lost to the elites (regardless of weight increases and multiple titles at multiple weight classes), he must NOT be an elite fighter.

                  and then followed it with:
Pacman lost to nobodies, I guess that makes him a nobody

                  when logic should clearly state:
Pacman lost to nobodies, I guess that makes him a NOT nobody.

BTW: That Pacman lying there was because of a low blow from his opponent.
Duran is the best lightweight ever. SOME OF YOU PINOY FANS ARE RIDICULOUS IN STATING DURAN AND PAC IN THE SAME SENTENCE. DURAN LOST TO THE "ELITES" THAT WERE "ELITE" IN THEIR WEIGHT CLASSES. DURAN LOST TO MUCH BIGGER MEN THAT OVERPOWERED HIM(EXCEPT SRL WHO OUTBOXED AND OUTSMARTED HIM).

IF BOXING EXPERTS LIKE EMMANUEL STEWARD WERE TO HEAR SOME OF THE COMMENTS THAT YOU GIES HAVE STATED ABOUT DURAN, THEY WOULD TELL YOU TO NEVER WATCH BOXING AGAIN. MANY OF YOU SPEAK OF DURAN W/O EVER SEEING HIM FIGHT. I BET THAT MOST OF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN DURAN FIGHT AT 130, 135, 140. IF YOU SAW THE DURAN/HEARNS FIGHT YOU WOULD NOTICE THE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN SIZE. HE WAS CLEARLY OVER POWERED BY BIGGER MEN.

Oh and if you want to point out Duran's losses, which were losses to much bigger men, maybe we should talk about Pac's KO losses to nobodies, he was KOed by a body punch from a noname!

why do pac haters always bring up that loss when y'all dont know what happened before that fight, machotime how long have u seen pac fight? prolly just started hating when he started beating crap out of mexicans, so dont start with that ****, duran is duran, he will be a HOF if some people thinks that pac is better than duran thats their ****ing opinion

Both started their careers at a much lower weightclass

Duran when he was still Duran stopped at 160-168 when he started at 130lbs.

Pacquiao appears to have filled out and suggest that the buck stops at 130lbs when he started at 108lbs.

                      Duran's Notable fights...

Duran vs. Leonard I - Duran wins a controversial slim margin

Duran vs. Leonard II- Duran quits out of frustration w/ Leonard's
                      style and speed.

Duran vs. Hagler- Duran loses by a UD

Duran vs. Hearns- Duran loses via k.o. in the early rounds

                      Pac's Notable fights...

PACQUAIO vs. MAB- tko's a legend

PACMAN/PACAMAZING vs. Juan Manuel Marquez - Fight ends in a
                      controversial
                      draw!

PAC-MAN vs. Erik I- Pac loses via UD

PACAMANIAC vs. Erik II- Pacquiao brutalizes a legend

Duran and PAC head to head obviously is not even up for debate and comparing PAC's famous opponents to Duran's rivals don't compare either.

One thing that I would say PAC has over on Duran is that k.o. power!

Stamina is about the same, both guys actually seem to get stronger as the fight goes into the championship rounds

                      Championship heart- Even

Overall boxing skills(Offense & Defense)- Hands down Duran

                      Chin- Slight edge to Duran
                      Ha ha, brillant!
