So what if he gassed? Does that not count as a loss? Haye gassed in his fight vs thompson as well - you go on and improve. A loss doesn't mean as much as it is made out to. The thing that annoys me is his fanboys coming up with all sort of excuses for the losses. Just accept that he was not the better man on the night and move on.
Please point to where I have made excuses for Haye being in a boring fight? I have always maintained that he stunk the place out and there's no excuse for it. I was in hamburg ffs, who do you think was more disappointed?
Who cares if he broke his hand? why do you keep going back to that? his tactics were clear from the beginning of the fight. You really don't have a clue. haha.
But yes, based on the footage from the post presser, it is clear to everyone with two working eyes that something was not right with his hand. Whether it was broken or not, I don't know.
You also talk about the supposed double standard of Wlad fans down playing Haye's career. Unless of course Wlad fans are referring to Haye being the best win on his record, or one of them. However, and I guess somewhat to your surprise, it seems that all of the Wlad fans on this thread seem to disagree with you. So, I find it somewhat hilarious that there really is no double standard. With that said I will tell you how I see the situation.
I was really hoping that Haye would somewhat be the successor to Wlad. I was hoping he would at least comeback and somewhat dominate after Wlad left the scene. Simply because it would look good for Wlad. I was also pulling for Haye to knock the snot out of Fury. But as it stands now, and if Haye never fights again, he will simply be to Wlad what Jeff Lacy was to Joe Calzaghe's career. A decent win but nothing really special.
Since you mentioned it what exactly was Haye's tactics or plan in the Valuev fight? Did he plan to bore everyone to sleep to include the Beast? If that was the plan it really worked. But honestly I don't think he did enough to break his hand or for that matter even win the fight. I actually thought Holyfield did much better against Valuev and I also didn't think that he had won, and I was always a big time Holyfield fan.
As far as Wlad's losses are concerned you missed my point. My point was, but I believe you already know what it was, is that Wlad's supposed glass jaw is in my opinion a myth. That is it no more or no less. And you can continue to argue how great Haye's career has been. But, I truly believe that unless he comes back and does enough to change some opinions most knowledgeable boxing fans, regardless if they are Wlad fans or not, will simply disagree with you or anyone else that makes such a statement.Last edited by Ravens Fan; 02-10-2014, 06:05 PM.
