Comments Thread For: Testing Still Being Negotiated for Pacquiao-Bradley

While the particulars have been worked out and agreed upon for Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley to square off again on April 12th, one thing that is still being worked on is the random style drug testing that will be administered leading up to the fight.
Olympic random style drug testing is quite prevalent in boxing as it’s used as reassurance and to prove both fighters are clean and on an even level playing field. The two agencies of choice are USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) and VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association).

So I guess the days of the NSAC doing a great job are over for Pacquiao.

What do you mean, the NSAC is still doing testing as they do for all sanctioned fights.

The ONLY reason he asked for the drug tests in the Rios fight was because prior to Ariza coming on board, Memo Hernandez was working with Rios. It's just funny how things play out. You ask for the tests because the same coach that aided the fighter who knocked you out, was also in your next opponent's camp only for your former strength coach to come on board and have your opponent test positive. Memo knows VADA was in so he stepped back. When the commission based tests are the only thing in place, the shady coaches come out. When the tests are in play, they have to cross their fingers. Ariza had Rios drinking gallons of water so he could piss clean but the post fight test can't be manipulated by a water flush if you just fought 12 rounds. These guys are dirty. This is another round of Pacquiao having a problem with the drug testing. What's there to negotiate? Accept it and move on.
