Could Victor Ortiz possibly be another option for Floyd in May?

Serious question. No fight has been announced and its about 3 months out. Do you think it is at all possible that Ortiz could be an option if he looks good tonight. Some (on this site) have even said ortiz was doing good against Floyd until the head butt. Just a thought since no fight has been announced.

If victor has a big KO win I am a rematch in May is very likely IMO. His profile is significantly higher than Khan's and there was enough BS in the 1st fight that a they could sell a rematch.

I doubt it, I just don't think the paying public would be interested in a rematch. No one really gave Ortiz a shot before the first fight and a win against Collazo won't change that. Plus the Mayweathers were pretty pissed about the headbutt situation in the first fight.

More to the point is there is a reason Ortiz is fighting on a Thursday card on Fox1 rather than Showtime. Its because he is a risky bet to put PPV promotion or premium cable promotions behind him with his quitting and headbutting guys when things got tough for him. I think Golden Boy has him on a short leash and he has to prove himself longterm before he can think about getting big fights in the future.
      So no.....

no way, i think floyd would fight khan first before a rematch with ortiz again. ortiz didnt show anything in that fight, and the way he went on to quit again in the fight after that i dont think gbp would risk putting him with floyd again, ******** ortiz is fighting today, on a thursday! LOL!! he's at the bottom right now. feel bad for him tho and have nothing bad to say about him except for what i just said lol.

May 2015, maybe. Ortiz has to have a HUGE year to rebuild his stock and that starts today. Hopefully he fights 3-4 times in total this year

I am of tired of hearing Ortiz wants Floyd again. Why are people writing articles about this? Ortiz needs to get his career back on track and beat some viable opponents. Even if he does beat some good fighters I still think we saw everything we needed in there first fight. Ortiz couldnt and wont be able to hit Floyd. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd fought him again its one more easy fight. Floyd will say Ortiz is a hungry young lion coming for my belt. smh

                I wouldn't doubt it.

You'll probably see Ortiz/Canelo before you see Mayweather/Ortiz 2. Ortiz would have to beat a significant fighter before he gets a Floyd fight again. I would personally like to see Ortiz/Maidana 2. If he can show the heart to get by Maidana, then Ortiz would be more worthy for a rematch with Floyd.
