Wow, this was pretty tame for Hopkins. I'm sure the rhetoric will build as we get closer. It may be the dual role as promoter/fighter but I have a feeling he knows he needs to bring his A game against Shumenov. I don't know, something about Shumenov I really like. It's not like he had to move a lot against Kovacs. It was more like he was hunting him down than trying to make him miss. I hope they announce this soon. Can't wait to put it on my calendar.

      Brahmer sucks.

Regardless, Hopkins will deserve his due credit should he manage to unify a couple of light heavyweight belts at 49 years old.

Brahmer backed out of his fight with Shumenov in 2010. Not sure why he would want him now either.

He's a guy(shumenov) who shouldn't be called champ, end of story.

Shumenov is a fake w/ a fake belt, weakest of the champs...Hopkins doing ALL he can 2 avoid the only 2 fights the fans want 2c...

Don't know who Shumenov is but you can tell he's pretty mediocre if BHop is trying to build him up this badly.

Shumenov's a Champ until somebody takes it.

Hopkins more than twice my age and boxing on a high level. Unreal. We won't ever see this again.

After this year, it'll be for all the marbles if Duva is serious about what she said

You realize Golden Boy fighters can't fight on HBO right? Hopkins already tried to fight Stevenson, Stevenson wanted to fight Hopkins but HBO obviously rejected it. Shumenov is Hopkins only option.
