Mayweather-Maidana > Mayweather-Khan for me. Especially when that's the fight Chino himself wants. I actually don't know if I want to watch a rematch of comprehensive ass beating just because Maidana would be favored to win it. He deserves a shot at Floyd.

Ohh you could name a number of fights greater than fighting Amir Khan. What I don't want is to see Maidana lose a fight he has very little if any chance of winning. The only thing Maidana walks away from in that fight is a good paycheck. He gets no title, another lose and back to the drawing board.

But when he loses to Floyd, the Broner rematch is still there and has the same intrigue as before, to me at least. I think Broner should fight the winner of Ortiz-Collazo personally, winner gets Maidana later this year.

Maidana would probably be embarassed and decisively beaten by Money May, but he's earned the right to show if he can do more. Unlike Khan.

This is the case with most any fighter fighting at JMW and below. Unless Floyd moves up to MW, this is what people will say. Especially once its over and Floyd didn't lose. Nothing wrong at all with Floyd fighting a WW who fights at WW holding a WW title. Maidana would be a great fight for anyone else fighting at WW. I don't hold Floyd to such high standards where he can't fight WW's fighting at WW holding WW titles. Especially since WW is in fact his current best weight class.

i don't know if maidana will miss out on much if he loses. he's still a very marketable top level guy for GBP and will be right back into the mix along with broner, thurman, porter, paulie etc. an L from floyd isn't really world shattering for him. what other elite level opponent/pay day fight is out there?

I've been saying that all along. Broner will always be there. Mayweather won't be especially if for some crazy chance Maidana looks bad vs Broner or worse, gets a loss.

Exactly, but say Maidana loses to Broner, MM is no longer a viable opponent and it really looks like Mayweather doesn't want to fight Broner at any time in their careers with their friendship.

Floyd needs to strike while the iron is hot and he usually does, e.g. the Ortiz fight. I still have hope that he'll pick Chino.

I'd rather see Mayweather-Ortiz II than Mayweather-Khan. I don't know why GBP and Floyd think the Khan fight will sell. No one wants to see that fight except for the Brits.

Here is an idea: How about Mayweather/Maidana and Khan/Broner???

As I already said, Mayweather is a monster, but he still can't win a fight before it happens.

As a WW champ, Maidana is a legit contender (which Khan isn't). And you can't deny his opportunity to a legit challenger because he is going to lose the fight anyway.
