Not really.
Maidana was the perfect fight for a fighter that had the hype Broner had and a future "Superstar".
It's the perfect fight to look good in if you're supposed to be as good as Broner is.
That's why they picked him. They didn't fathom the thought of losing.
Can you imagine a Young prime Floyd against Maidana? Or Prime Pacquaio? Whitaker? Chavez? Even Oscar or Mosley. They'd destroy him.
It was a dangerous fight for sure but it was supposed to be a perfect one and Broner once again missed his "Gatti moment" that a lot of people were expecting after he failed to provide it with Pauli.

You guys hate the way he carry himself and all the shït he talks so you guys give him a hard time, but reality is that broner has a great talent and IF he takes boxing seriously and stops all the other shenanigans he will go down as one of the greatest ever. Besides, he's in the entertainment business not in the pleasing everyone. As long as he entertains me, I could care less the way he lives his life. And BTW, none of the guys you mentioned were 3 div champs by the age of 23, so you could talk about how humble or underdogs they were, this is boxing and we only care about how good you fight. Everything else is pointlessLast edited by richardt; 01-14-2014, 11:01 PM.

You said "Everyone I mentioned" as being greater than Broner?????????? As in prime Jones, Mayweather, Mosley, Trinidad, yes they are ATG's. Problem with that??? And newsflash - if a fighter is going to act like an ASS and takes SHT's and video tapes himself doing that and then makes it public and tapes himself getting blow jobs, and punches old ladies and takes their purse, and is on video going down on a stripper and bites security guards and makes racial statements and shows up to a fight overweight, doesn't even try to make weight and doesn't apologize and then storms out of the ring AFTER a decision is announced, not everyone is going to ***ing like him! I actually prefer to like a fighter that I support! Radical concept!

Adrian "has a problem" Broner
But Paulie said it best...Broner fought a lot of laundry mat fighters! Trying to build up a bull***** record. Had he kept fighting those same laundry mat fighter then his record would read 43-0. I give him credit for taking the fight with Chino, but it proves that he's just another good fighter not great fighter. Not another Cotto, De La Hoya, etc. but definitely not the next FMM.

This is the same strategy Floyd used, being hated so much for his off the ring behavior that people like you would watch all his fights to see him lose. See where that got him today, getting. Paid 50plus mils per fight all thanks to haters Like you. Same reason why mayorga was relevant as long as he was. Broner is 23 and he's making more in one fight than you'll prolly make in you're entire life because people like you pay to see him lose. He thanks youLast edited by richardt; 01-15-2014, 02:31 PM.

Whitaker won on points in a boring fight and Vasquez even floored him.
