The dude just fought the #1 guy (and arch-nemesis) without receiving a single penny -- he'd come back an even bigger hero and God to that country than he already is. **** they'd probably set up a country wide fund for him
It leads to my next question. If it Pacquiao was serious, why not say he'd devote his purse to charity and let Mayweather do what he wants with his share? Asking Mayweather to fight for free is making an offer he KNOWS would be refused. I've heard people say that is a duck move (like offering 40 million dollars to a star of equal standing).

Lets clear up some misinformation about the past negotiations
1st negotiation - Floyd wants OSDT until the day of the fight. Pacquiao counter-offers it to 14 days before the fight and a test right after the fight. There was no counter offer from Floyd's camp. This is clear that Floyd was the one that ducked the fight.
2nd negotiation - Floyd offers Pacquiao $40 million and no PPV. Pacquiao counter-offers floyd a $50 million guarantee plus the PPV would be split 55 to 45 with the winner getting 55%. Once again no counter offer from floyd. This is a clear duck and no one ever brings this up.
Now compare the two offers. One was a slap in the face and the other is the greatest offer that has even been offered in boxing history. Its clear who the real ducker is.
3rd negotiation - Pacquiao offers to fight Floyd for free. All the money generated from the fight will go to charity around the world. Arum wouldn't make a dime so Floyd technically isn't "doing business" will Arum. If you say your the best ever than prove it in the ring but I'm positive he'll duck Pacquiao once again
Thats 3 ducks in a row.
Pacquiao been willing to fight him whenever and wherever

What is also funny is how some people's minds work. Mayweather makes Pacquiao an actual (by actual conversation) offer of 40 mil, no PPV. The offer is refused. Some criticise the offer as rubbish (it was without doubt) and it is preclaimed as a duck because it was an offer that was made knowing it would be refused. Pacquiao supposedly makes an "offer" (really a random article, not even close to actually being made, and people know he never actually would make it in reality) to fight for nothing. The same people look at the"move" (just talk and nothing more) as something praise worthy. The "offer" will be refused and everyone knows it will. Yet, the refusal is criticised and not the BS offer? So this time, the offer that was made (through media) KNOWING it would be refused is not a duck?? Very consistent indeed.
Funnier still is the thought that if Mayweather doesn't call Pacquiao's bluff in this pseudo-negotiation, he's ducking. Whereas, Pacquaio refused to call Mayweather's bluff and walked from testing (with 50/50 on the table), and he refused to call his bluff for 40 mil flat and that is not ducking?
One fighter is a hero to desperate sycophants for making imaginary offers while turning down real ones, while another is the villain for making real offers while ignoring imaginary ones. Interesting......
The facts are -and you'd have known this if you'd been around to read the reports- that the negotiations were just about over, when Phoney threw down the very late demand for testing. MannyP was the A side, and the global icon, and would not accept these demands to be made like that, although he tried to compromise.
It really showed a lack of respect. If Phoney wanted the tests in, he should have produced them when the terms were being laid out, before everything was almost completed. It was obvious that MannyP would not agree.
