That's what I thought, he took the shots well. Maidana's a big puncher. When Broner did get knocked down, he got to his feet + was able to survive pretty easily as well. It wasn't like he was there to be hit. Broner will either learn from this fight and get better or keep acting like a d*ck. I think he's smart in a way though because he learnt from Floyd that acting like a d*ck gets people to watch you and makes you money. The way he's acting he's clearly trying to make a whole lot more money than Floyd...

I was watching Maidana the whole time during this fight and he's really smart the way he feints and disguises his big shots and switches from the body to the head. He's a big puncher but he knows how to land those shots too. I think people underrate him because to the uneducated eye it can look like he is just flailing away. He was doing well to avoid a lot of Broner's punches too. I think Maidana is just improving each fight now.

I'd love someone to put up a GIF of Broner's delayed reaction to the head butt. One of the most embarrassing things I have seen.

He'd et his footwork straightened out & he'd be able to make the transition from his offense to defense much better with R. May. Broner is an offensive fighter like Roger but he needs more refinement. He's young enough to be taught the proper fundamentals. Will he do it is another question.
Man you sound ******!!!! IF Broner needs a new trainer what does that punching bag Brandon Rios need ???? Man that kid fought his azz off and the fight was a good watch

No he's not a natural welterweight and no he wasn't stockier than Maidana. I don't see how anyone could look in the ring and not see that Maidana was clearly the bigger, thicker fighter. He lost. He lost bad. He was embarrassed. He's pretty much the laughing stock of the internet. There's no need to try and make the loss look worse than it already is. At best, AB is a natural jr welterweight right now. And personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he could still make 35 relatively comfortably.

AB's problem isn't his lifestyle outta the ring. His problem is being is star is a bigger priority than being a good fighter to him and those around him. Sad thing is he, and those around him don't realize that if he doesn't back up all the bull**** with in-ring performances. The stardom will continue to fade and then go away comepletely.

Broner has a load of talent but he has terrible defense, ring IQ and supporting cast. He needs a no-nonsense type of guy like Brother ****m in his corner.
Terrible defense??? If AB had terrible defense he never sees the middle rounds in that fight.

The reason he did survive the 12 rounds is due to the dirty and illegal tactics he used and because of the help the ref gave him by allowing it to happen. Credit shouldn't be taken away from Maidana either by saying that he had to fight a certain way otherwise he could have been outboxed by Broner because that's not true either. Maidana boxed with Broner and got the better of him in outside exchanges too so the credit is due to Maidana in that department also. Laurence Cole is one of the worse refs I've ever seen and should never be allowed to officiate another fight ever again.
I think its a pretty standard practice to hold and do whatever the hell you gotta do to survive when you're hurt. And considering that AB spent a lotta time on ***** st, it was pretty much to be expected. What was he supposed to do? Stand there on shakey legs trading punches with a guy that's hurting him with almost every punch he threows and one he's having no success in buzzing himself.

That's right, it was a majority decision. two judges had it 116-112 for Maidana, and the third had it tied at 114-114. is the author doing his research?

But if he had GOOD defense, he never would have been rocked like he was in the first place!

Really??? Let's see. Floyd, the best defensive fighter of his era was rocked by Mosley, "Chop Chop" Corley, and dropped by Judah. Rigondeaux, arguably the best denfensive fighter in the world today has been dropped multiple times. Ward, one of the best defensive fighters in the game was hurt badly by a Darnell Boone who has about 20 loses. Sweet Pea, the best defensive fighter of his era, was dropped multiple times in his career. What do all of these guys have in common. They're all better defensively that AB and have been rocked. Moral of the story, getting cught and rocked doesn't mean you're not good defensively.
