Would never happen. Lara is a horrible match-up for Floyd, and high risk, low reward. It would struggle to sell as well because casual Boxing fans haven't heard of Lara. I honestly believe this fight would be a legitimate almost 50-50 fight. Lara presents problems that Floyd hasn't come up against in years.

And you should be angry. Just like boxing fans are angry at Arum for "mistreating" Rigo. When it comes to GBP and Co. they suddenly understand the business.

Pretty much. Foreign fighters need to be exciting for the casual US audience to care about them, and Lara just isn't.

Let's face it. People watch Mayweather fights to see him lose. I don't think you'll attract fans with guys like Khan or Garcia. Therefore, their drawing power is just as bad. Lara, at least, would have the size and skill to give Floyd problems.

Lara is the best fight for Mayweather imo, I dot give a **** about finances but in terms of legacy i think Lara is the hardest fight for him from 154 downwards

The ease with which Lara dominated Trout was impressive. He would have more than a slim chance to dethrone Floyd, which I can't say about any other fighter from 140 to 154. While I would love to see the fight materialize, the financial side of the equation won't allow it to happen. It's a shame, but boxing is a business first and I don't see Showtime risking an even bigger loss than was the case with Guerrero.

Its a good fight from a purist prospective. But it's really a hard sell to the casual boxing fan. Floyd only moves up for the really big fights. So I don't see it happening next May. But if Lara can beat Canelo on a really big stage that puts a lot of pressure on Floyd to make this fight.

Poor Lara. Hardcore fans are willing to accept he's a hard sell because "it's business" and not worth fighting for. His fellow Cuban, Rigo, is luckier, Arum is evil.
