I sometimes wonder if Broner's handlers even like him. Seems pretty unbearable. Maybe that's why they signed off on him fighting a KO puncher in front of 20,000 screaming Latin Americans. Maybe they think his lifestyle is going to catch up and they're trying to cash out quickly. Or maybe they recognize that the unbearable persona is exactly why 20,000 fans will be there. And if he wins wins impressively in that kind of setting he'll gain some street cred. Maidana is the perfect opponent -- he's flawed enough and his style plays right into Broner's hands. Plus he'll try to make it a war, which will give Broner every opportunity to land hard shots. Seems like a bit of a set-up but I'm intrigued.

I don't like him nor rate him, myself.

Broner didn't throw enough vs Paulie, but he didn't get hit by much either.
He has a very elite skillset and seems to take training seriously (even if he sounds ridiculous and pulls ****** stunts).
It's far too early to put him up there in the P4P lists, but he's a top prospect. There aren't many guys sub 25 that you'd put ahead of him. Canelo for sure, but that might be it (Mikey Garcia is about to be 26).

If Pauli had any power at all he'd have been in trouble IMO.

I'd be surprised if there is ever a point where Adrien Broner is a top 5 p4p fighter. Top 10? Maybe. Top 5? Can't see it.

Broner will fall against Maidana
Adrian Broner won't be able to handle Maidana's pressure, and speed won't save Broner against his relentlessness either. Broner can proclaim himself in the top three till the 14th, and then he will complaining and making excuses why he lost to Maidana. I've been waiting for this matchup to shut Broner's big mouth about his dominance over the sport. I hope he doesn't use Errol Spence as a sparring partner anymore, or he might not make it to the fight. R.i.P. Broner's undefeated record on December 14th.

I saw him struggle with Ponce De Leon but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was young and learning and showed flashes of brilliance for example in Round 5.
I went back and watched the Quintero fight and gave him the benefit of the doubt for that too as he was very green.
The final straw for me was the Pauli fight. I mean, how can you justify struggling with Pauli at that stage of his career? The guy had just got a serious gift against Cano.
This is a Pauli that was even more faded than the version that Khan shut out and stopped.
That was Broner's Gatti moment and he ended up edging out a close decision.
People compare this guy to Mayweather but can you imagine if a 24 year old Mayweather fought that version of Pauli? He's beat him from pillar to post.

After Maidana Knocks Him Out, Ask Him Again About That Top 5
Boner is like Alvarado, like Rios... haven't fought and beaten anyone. Hand picked his record like his 'big brudder', to manufacture a "0". Boner left the lightweight division because he was avoiding Gamboa who was calling him out, still calling him out! He chose the lightest hitting welterweight and struggled to dominate him. He's pissed Maidana off to the point, I believe we see Maidana's career best, and he's gonna shock the crap out of Boner. Just like Provo did to Bradley, I believe Boner is going to get the same bloody beatdown.
