If froch had instantly come out and said 'that stoppage was BS let's have a rematch' he would have gotten cheered and be perhaps the most respected and admired boxer in the world right now.

I felt Froch was ungracious in his win. He didn't want to shake Groves' hand to begin with and put too much emphasis on how good the stoppage was. He also started calling out the crowd for not 'understanding' what the fighters are going through. Whilst it might be true for the majority of the crowd, it's not really the smartest thing to do.

He didn't deserve to be boo'd, but he should have just said it was a good fight and he'd like a rematch to prove that he was a deserved winner. He went on one of his long rants about the referee and himself to justify the stoppage.

He knew he drew a lucky one there, and it showed in the post fight interview. I wasn't impressed with him on the basis of that. And i've been a huge fan of his for most of his career.
What, because Groves scored a knockdown in the 1st round? If anyone was unlucky, it was Froch. He was denied a legitimate stoppage. Groves had a lucky escape; he'll come again.

If the ref hadn't intervened, it could have been a Bute-like stoppage that Groves may not have recovered from.

Most fighters would have given up. Not Carl, he has spirit and will. He came back and was close to a stoppage won legitimately.

Froch doesn't like groves, he said it all pre fight. He doesn't have to shake no bodies hand.

Anyone who boo'd him is a ******. Too emotional.

It shows how fickle 'fans' can be.

The British public usually display fair play as regarding co-nationals competing against each other.
Now I hear that Michael Owen was a boxing fighter once -- that explains his exemplary behaviour on the football pitch...

I saw Groves applauding Froch during the verdict...

There was nothing going on in the fight that suggested Groves was about to get Bute'd.

Perhaps Froch was denied of a legitimate stoppage. Perhaps Groves was. Groves most certainly could continue, don't be silly.

Maybe he should have just said that he felt he'd been robbed of a legit stoppage win and they could get it on again. But he didn't - it was orchestrated to get the fans back on his side after a pretty bad display.

I like how fans are mad Froch didn't shake Groves hand, these are the same people who say "Oh it was all put on then" when heated rivals shake hands. Example being Haye/Chisora.

Froch should of been a bit more understanding about the stoppage but he gave Groves respect in the interview and even said he could have the rematch. Don't understand the Froch hate.

When Frochs refused to shake Groves hand after the fight, the crowd got very angry

He brought it on himself and then all the arrogance in the interview ring side

                      He deserved all the boo's
