instead of putting a banner on who's the future of boxing let these guys go out there & just prove it (like it use to be in the 70's)

oh i understood clearly...you tried to cite some poor ass comparisons and the only thing i could tell you is that they're not close...

for one, Mikey actually has basic fundamentals (thus the 'polished' reply)..i didnt bother elaborating because i lost interest in discussing your opinion...

i think the kid is gonna go on to do bigger, greater things...you think he becomes Ortiz

      we'll leave it at that

        He is one of them...ABSOLUTELY!

Kid seems to get better and better as he raises his level of competition

i agree that garcia wont be some ATG,, but he will be champ for sometime,,,

The kid is very skilled and poised

but i think he will have a career like his brother robert,, will be a champ but will eventually meet a corrales type guy and get ko'd.. It just wont happen for a few more years

Garcia right now is the truth, at 130
the comparison had nothing to do with who's the more polished...........ortiz is a wacky fighter & when he stepped up he just couldn't stop ****ing up.

i see mickey as a bit of the same. a wacky fighter. he's already missed weight (and his career is just starting) i just see him as having very wacky moments..........

well, heres your problem.............you thought that i was throwing a personal attack towards mickey and comparing his boxing abilities to ortiz. but i wasn't. (thats some fanboy stuff) going directly into a head to head comparison and missing the entire point. both guys have wacky moments...........mickey himself is struggling with his weight which leads me to believe that he's not a 130 pounder. he's like ortiz in the sense that both looked good early on but as their career progressed wacky things started to happen (now do you get what i was trying to say to you?) I'm not attacking your beloved mickey.

overall i don't see him as being the future of boxing.

Mikey conducts himself in aa way that suggests he is a fighter looking to become the best fighter he can be.

Vic conducts himself like someone who is looking to use boxing as a stepping stone to other revenue streams and develop his brand outside the ring.

I would say yea he is the future of Mexican boxing beyond that I don't know but that is still a good place to be. I would certainly say he is the best Mexican all around that has come out in a while.

I like what I've seen from him so far. He is always patient, never gets rattled, and sets up nice combos to the head and body with power.

Definitely one of the young guns that will carry American boxing into the future

you may be right,, but i think he had just out grown featherweight while he was still champ,,
if it happens again, then its a pattern , and yes it would be a problem

couldnt agree more,, let him beat burns, gamboa, salido rematch, vasquez, uchiyama, etc.. let him beat guys like that, and then we can proclaim his greatness

I don't know about the future, but right now I like what I see in Mikey Garcia. He should retire Gamboa next and get it over with.
