Revisiting Margarito's hand wraps I am very curious about smth

Many industry insiders indicated that the substance of paris in the pads was around 2% and would probably have no more effect on punching power than a regular not wet pad.

Has anybody in boxing done any scientific study about the damage that this Margarito pad could incur on an opponent?

Like let's say punching a bag with it and without it and then measure the power of each punch and what not.

I don't think he's ever used it to be honest. What they found in his dressing room was shady though

The Cotto that boxed and moved would've always had trouble coping with Margarito's pressure and power. Cotto lost some power when he moved to 147 and couldn't keep Margarito off of him.

Him having the tendency to fade late, with a bit of a shaky chin, would've always given Margarito a chance for the late KO.

I do agree that Margarito just has the style to give him hell and no matter what Cotto fanboys say there is not a shred of evidence that he used plaster against Cotto.

Very interesting....But that was not plaster of Paris, one ingredient thats found in chalk. and that 2% was not plaster of paris, that would mean that you have all the ingredients to make 2%, not the case here.

Why not try the experiment yourself ?

            Wrap Your hands.

have a friend hold the mitts and feel you power.

            rest.

Proceed to slap some chalk in your hands.

have the same person hold the mitts and guage the increase in power.

            post results

Scientific studies say it was 2% plaster, studies also say plaster doesn't belong in your wraps.

He cheated and was caught. They wouldn't have suspended him a year if there was any doubt. When someone suddenly starts having success and gets caught cheating we have to assume they have been doing it the whole time they found success. When they are caught and no longer are successful like Margarito was it seems obvious.

Margarito was set up. The large amount of haters Margarito has helped in all this. Flohmos ran with a bullsht story cause their boy ducked Margs and Cotto fans needed an excuse. Mosley and GB had the fight moved to a different location so Shane could roid up more and set up a potential fight with Floyd. Margarito was a victim. A block fell out of his wraps, WHERE IS THIS FCKING BLOCK? Did it get lost? Did it crumble and fly in the wind? WTF happened to it?

Even if there was something in his wraps, hypothetically speaking, Mosley was so roided it was still a disadvantage for Margs.
